This was when "Soul Train", was not afraid to think outside the box. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Like they don't do it now...The point is, at one point, Don went out of his was to find people who made good music....regardless of color. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

That Rick James DVD sure had some lip-synced TV "performances".
Even when his band was there, they were miming

Bowie later said he was so nervous for this one that he got drunk beforehand. WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!

The crowd was really into him. David was listening to a lot of Philly soul and funk music in the 70's so it jumped right into his music.
Elton John also got down on Soul Train with "Bennie And The Jets".

Alot of artists lip-sync during TV appearances. yeah I don't ever remember seeing a live vocal on Soul Train I love that, they will fade out the damn record right on stage and the band just stops pretending after a while as My Legacy

Fame '90
THIS^ is even better version. David really made the drum machine beats hit HARD!

With Fame 90, he was just trying to improve on something that did not need improving... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I just think the remix was used to sell his Changesbowie hits collection. But definately the original is best, though the remix didn't steal away too much from the original.

Well i just don't like the idea of remixes anyway. Why not make the song decent the first time around that way you don't have to go back and mess with it?

I'm surprised that he didn't return to 'Soul Train' in 1983 to perform "Let's Dance".That song was very popular on R&B stations, like "Fame" was in 1975.

By that time, Soul Train was trying to cater to a more urban audience. I don't believe the saw Bowie as fitting that mold. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
