Sh-Boom!! Original or Cover, Black Or White?

Hey, this is my recent JAM!

Which version do you prefer, The Chords, which was produced by Jerry Wexler and is quite black in a 1953 kinda way, and the more conventional but more carefully arranged Crew-Cuts version?

1stly I do not understand how race has to do with a version of a song. I find this quite ignorant and racist. you could've said " which version do you prefer" instead of throwing a color line in the subject.

I wanted to provoke you. It's ignorant.

On the other side... the question is: why was the Crew-Cuts version more succesful? Is it the old tale of the white man stealing from the black culture and making it it's own?

So, it's def there for a reason.

Also, when starting threads it's my intention to provoke thoughts, to make people argue over sth. It's legitimate.
