His point is that the blues uses lyrics that denigrate black women, but Hillybilly music treats women like queens. On Hillbilly songs the lyrics are usually, "honey, I'm sorry," but on blues songs the lyrics usually talk about "she did me wrong, she broke my heart, she screwed around on me, she did this and that." Gregory blames treatment of black women on blues lyrics. I don't agree, but it is food for thought. You have to admit, he is right about the lyrics.

Can you believe anything dude says? I dig him on SOME stuff he points out but overall he reminds me of one of those zany old guys that always tell you the world will end in a minute. In blues music, you hear women talking shit about men too so what the hell is he talking about? It's like saying all hip-hop music denigrate black women and not all of it does. Music shouldn't be blamed for how anybody is treated.

You guys can talk shit about Mr.Gregory all you want - as outlandish as he appears to be, his words NEVER cease to hit home.

While I don't agree with his take on the "blues", I can def see his logic.
