Tired of MJ anyone?

I know this could be a touchy subject.
But I had it, I'm done with the whole MJ revival.
I can't hear Billie Jean or Thriller anymore.
I walk into a bar, and they're playing "black or white" and people going crazy for it. Obviously they still can't have enough.
If the song would have been played before MJ passed away, the same people would not have been going crazy for it.
Hypocrites?
I think so.
I'm sure his recent death caused every person that ever liked his music to like his music to the extreme one more time.
I have to admit, it happened to me as well.
But now I'm over it, and actually had enough MJ for a while.
Anyone else here feels like this?

I'm still listening to him. But that's how I am. When I'm listening to someone, that's all I'm listening to.

Before he passed away, he haven´t listened to him for a while, started only recently to get in the mood for the concert that I was going to attend and when he passed away, I just needed to hear him for some reason and I still do. I am a huge MJ fan, but believe it or not, he has never been everything I ever listened to. I always used to have periods when I would listen to Mike, then I´d turn to Prince for a while, then Sade etc. Usually I tend to listen to one person for a while. I don´t know why.
Right now, i am in my MJ period, but I don´t listen to radio or watch TV, so I listen to him and his songs when I feel like it.

I've gotten tired a bit of listening to the usual hit songs, but I chose to listen to some of his rare songs as a change.

When I listen to Mike, I also usually listen to the non-single songs.

Just the subtitle of being refered to as "The King Of Pop". How can he retain that title when he had HUGE gaps between History, and Invencible? confused

B/c he was raising his kids between History and Invincible, they were just born between that period.

His priority became parenthood over music.

Elvis Presely has been dead for over 30 years and is still considered The King of Rock 'n' Roll. Same thing with Aretha. When is the last time the Queen of Soul released a record? It doesn't matter though if MJ never recorded another record after say "Dangerous". He deserved and still deserves the title. No one deserves it more period and The King of Pop title should remain his. Michael is the only one who gets questioned about these things I swear! No one complains about Elvis, Aretha, James Brown, and others with their titles. Geez.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I wasn't really a fan of his music after Dangerous (even parts of that were spotty for me) but I'm not sick of his music or videos.

What I am sick of is how this is still news, but even in saying that I have to offer a footnote: I am also sick of the Jon & Kates, the Octomoms, the Brangelinas and anything else that passes for "news". We have 2 wars going on, an economy that needs fixing, and a global climate crisis.

I re-read your question, and I can agree that this is happening to me. Keywords: for a while. I get the same way with every artist though.

We NEED to hear his music, see his videos. It's therapeutic. People are in mourning. This was a shock to the world. This keeps him alive for us in spirit. It's very hard not having Mike. Very hard.

I've read that the concert promoter is going to release a full-length DVD of what the concert "would've been". They have hundreds of hours of rehearsal footage at supposedly final-version quality.

Not sure how I feel about that, but we'll see.

It should be terrible everywhere, why people even bother watching RTV, I mean, MTV anymore.

Every time I hear that Dire Straits song, I wanna cry because when I was a baby/kid, MTV was the shit. My brother got me hooked to watching MTV. wink
