Jackson Five - "Darling Dear" (1970) ...
One of my favorite James Jamerson Basslines!!! And Mike is Mike, of course... ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

This was a b-side to "Mama's Pearl," the very first record I ever owned. I think I played "Darling Dear" more.
The stripped version that just came out is great!

One of my favorite J5 cuts. Truly sublime. On the Org since 2005.

Damn, I don´t get to see half of the old J5 videos posted here due to some copyright restrictions. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

Another Miracles cover:
I actually think James' bass was rocking more on this version w/Smokey and 'em...

I always liked the J5 arrangements better than a lot of the originals....Like The Love I Saw Was Just a Mirage.....and, Love is Here and Now Your Gone, etc...I dig both feels for Darling Dear...but I like the urgency of the J5 version...just my preference, though.... ... Yeah everybody's got a preference. Don't get me wrong, I dig the arrangements in the J5's versions but I always loved to hear the originals.
