Heck, even some folks here are hoping the children are biologically his so their talents can come out to carry on the legacy. That's a lot of pressure to have put on them and if Joe has anything to do with it, they'll be exploited one way or another. [Edited 8/10/09 1:11am]

Reading the Bible, listening to the Gipsy Kings...the final chaotic hours of Michael Jackson’s tortured lifeBy Sharon Churcher In New York and Caroline Graham In Los Angeles
Last updated at 1:27 AM on 09th August 2009 Michael Jackson's last hours were spent in extreme distress in which he begged for his father as he lapsed into a drug-fuelled emotional breakdown, according to a graphic new account by his biographer. The tormented superstar was ‘high as a kite’ on powerful painkillers, reading the Bible, writing dark, nightmarish poetry and hysterically accusing the money men who managed his career of ‘betraying’ him with their plans for a gruelling, 50-date London tour. Author Ian Halperin, who accurately predicted Jackson’s death eight months ago and whose book on the troubled star, Unmasked: The Final Years Of Michael Jackson, is high in the bestseller charts, has now reinterviewed a number of aides, family friends and investigators. And last night he revealed that Jackson spent the 12 hours before he died in an increasingly paranoid and agitated state. Shortly after midnight on the day of his death, June 25, Jackson finally snapped. Demanding that the tour be called off, he asked an aide to call his father, shouting that Joe Jackson was the only person he still trusted. When Jackson was informed that he could not be reached, he ordered his £100,000-a-month personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray, to ‘put him out’ with an intravenous drip that included an anaesthetic normally used in hospital operating theatres. ‘Michael was cracking up. He had been injecting himself for over 12 hours, he said for excruciating pain,’ Halperin reveals in an exclusive interview from New York, where he is making a documentary about the singer’s tragic death. ‘He begged to see his father but they lied to him. They told him they couldn’t get hold of him. If Joe Jackson had been allowed to see him that night, I believe Michael would still be alive.’ The singer, a chronic insomniac, got up at noon on June 24. ‘He had been up until at least 4am, he was so wound up,’ Halperin says. ‘Usually he would lunch at 1pm but that day he barely ate a crumb,’ says the author. ‘He was complaining that his throat and lungs hurt. He also had wrenched his back during rehearsals for the London tour.’ At 12.30pm, the writer says, he began to inject himself with Demerol and lidocaine, as well as a psychiatric drug. At 2.40pm, he emerged from his bedroom, still clad in his pyjamas. ‘He was a bit high,’ says Halperin, ‘but he struck up a conversation in the living room with an aide. He reminisced about his childhood.’ The singer then retreated and got dressed. Three phone calls came into the mansion between 1pm and 4pm. Jackson refused to take them. ‘Three days earlier, he had said he had “made a deal with the devil”,’ Halperin says. ‘I assume he was referring to the concert promoters.’ He was scheduled to rehearse two dance numbers that afternoon with his youngest son, Blanket, seven, who was to appear with him at the O2 series. ‘Michael cancelled the rehearsal,’ says Halperin. ‘He couldn’t keep in sync because of the drugs and the pain.’ At about 4.30pm, the door to Michael’s suite was shut. No one could tell Halperin with certainty how the star occupied himself in the next six ‘missing hours’, but a toxicology report indicates he continued to ingest drugs. At about 10.40pm, his staff heard music coming from the room. When the door swung open again, about two hours later, Halperin says, he seemed morose and consumed with fear and anger. The star had changed back into pyjamas and a shabby pair of brown slippers. Aides told Halperin they saw him sitting on his bed. ‘He’d been listening to classics for a couple of hours,’ the author says. ‘Then he suddenly switched to the Gipsy Kings, which was odd. They weren’t Michael’s thing. His mood was extremely chaotic.’ At 1.20am, he received a phone call. ‘It was from one of his advisers,’ Halperin says. ‘He got in a shouting match about finances. That was when Michael said he was calling off the tour. He said some of his advisers didn’t care about his welfare. There were undesirables around him who he feared would hurt him physically and financially. He might have gone along if it had been five shows, he said, but he couldn’t do 50.’ Halperin adds: ‘Michael was visibly upset. I’ve been told he was crying. He demanded an aide call his father. He said his father was the only person who could “clean up the mess”. The aide told him there was no answer and promised to call him the next day.’ Halperin claims that for weeks, whenever Joe Jackson drove to his son’s mansion, he was blocked by security guards. ‘These people were scared that if Joe got wind of the shape Michael was in, he would cancel all 50 shows,’ Halperin says. ‘Joe always told his children, “You either perform at your maximum capacity or you don’t perform.’’’ In the early hours of the morning of his death, Jackson began to scribble poems. ‘He was as high as a kite. What he wrote was dark, sort of frightening,’ says Halperin. ‘The poems were found, hanging in his room on strings. He was over the edge.’ For the next 40 minutes, he sat on his bed, crying and reading the Bible. At 1.51am, he ordered an aide to fetch Dr Murray. He had hired the Trinidadian-born cardiologist, who was burdened with debt, to help him deal with the stress of the London tour after four other physicians turned down the job. ‘Michael was overheard telling Murray he was ready to go to sleep, ’ says Halperin. At 1.57am, Michael was seen going into the doctor’s room, says Halperin, who claims Murray ‘routinely’ would give him a sleeping potion that included the anaesthetic Propofol, also known as Diprivan. ‘The Diprivan wouldn’t be administered in Michael’s room but in the doctor’s room which was kept under lock and key,’ says Halperin. The star muttered his last known words to an aide at about 2am: ‘Michael told him, “Don’t worry about me. I am going to sleep.” Twenty five minutes later, Dr Murray was spotted leaving his room. Michael was in a deep sleep. He never woke up.’ Authorities are investigating Dr Murray for suspected manslaughter. The physician has strongly maintained his innocence. ‘It may be difficult to prove exactly what killed Michael. He was an extremely sick man,’ says Halperin. ‘The one thing that is certain is that his father would have beaten down the gates to rescue him if he’d been informed of the state that he was in. ‘No one can say how long he would have lived but he would have survived that night.’ http://www.dailymail.co.u...-life.html I am not sure what's wrong, but it's probably your fault!

MICHAEL JACKSON LAID TO REST
Michael Jackson has been buried, seven weeks after his death, his family lawyer has said. Michael Jackson's brothers carry his coffin at his memorial service in July Brian Oxman told GMTV that after coroners had released certain tissues, including his brain, following an autopsy, they were buried with Jackson's body during a low key ceremony. Mr Oxman said: "The burial itself was at the time of the memorial. When the tissues were returned to the body, then the interment was made final." The Daily Mirror is reporting that the ceremony took place at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Hollywood Hills. The lawyer also moved to deny rumours that former child star Mark Lester was the father of the King of Pop's daughter, Paris. Mr Lester is godfather to Jackson's three children, and claims that he donated sperm to the singer 13 years ago. The actor said: "I gave Michael my sperm so that he could have kids - and I believe Paris is my daughter." Mark Lester and Paris Jackson Mr Lester cited Paris' pale skin and blue eyes, similar to his own daughter's, as the reason he believes she is his child. However, Mr Oxman said: "I think what Mark said is what he understands, he was told these things. "That's what Michael wanted it to be. But Michael always told me he was the papa." Mr Lester says he is only speaking out because he is concerned Jackson's mother, Katherine, will cut him out of their lives. He claims since she was given custody of them all of his emails and phone calls to them have gone unanswered. source: http://news.sky.com/skyne...n_Ceremony "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. another bulls*!t story
He offered me £500K to get him drugs for his O2 gigs A british woman has revealed how Michael Jackson offered her £500,000 to supply a shopping list of dangerous drugs to see him through his O2 shows. Dr Susan Etok told how Jackson summoned her to a clandestine 90-minute meeting at a top London hotel, where he made the extraordinary proposal. Desperate and agitated, he begged her to use her contacts in the UK to obtain a cocktail of drugs including Diprivan and Demerol - the same ones suspected to have killed him - because he "couldn't trust a doctor here". She said: "He kept saying, 'Are you going to do it for me, you are going to do it for me, aren't you?'. He was desperate, like a child begging his mum for sweets. "Then he said, 'I don't care what it takes, I don't care how much money it takes - if it costs half a million, that's fine'." Susan, 32, has spoken out to reveal the truth about how serious the star's habit had become, and her story gives a chilling insight into his manipulation of those around him to get drugs. High-flying Susan, from Luton, Beds, first met Jackson by chance when she went on holiday to California in 1988 with her university friend Heather Barber, who was part of the star's extended family. Then aged 21, Susan was doing a science degree at Loughborough University. She first met Michael at his suite in the Mirage hotel in Las Vegas, then was invited to see him again at the end of their trip. "We just hung out in his room watching movies because he couldn't go out anywhere without being mobbed," she said. "Me and Michael just really got on. I found his sense of humour really funny. We had loads of fun just sitting being silly. He told me he'd stay in touch and we spoke on the phone regularly after that. He'd call me up - in tears sometimes - over the claims that were damaging his good name." And as Susan's career flourished - she qualified with a PhD in biomaterial engineering and now helps design prosthetic limbs - so did her friendship with Jackson. He took a particular interest in her family after learning she had six relatives in the medical profession. They met around 10 times and would talk on the phone about family matters and Michael's future projects. Susan never realised he was grooming her to be part of his team as a drug supplier. And she never imagined how far their friendship would be stretched when she was asked to meet him at his suite at the five-star Lanesborough Hotel in London on March 6, while Michael was in London to announce his This Is It concerts at the 02 dome. She told the Sunday Mirror: "I hadn't expected to see Michael on that trip because it was just a short publicity visit. "I got a call from a guy called Vince from the States on March 2, telling me to keep the 6th free. I did and met him outside a café at Paddington station. He was waiting in a black SUV with blacked-out windows. He took a roundabout way to the hotel, as if he wanted to be sure we weren't being followed." She added: "Michael was waiting for me. He was in black trousers, a red cotton top and one of his black fedora hats with a hairnet on underneath. He looked the thinnest he'd ever been in the 11 years I'd known him. When I came in, he stood up and gave me a big hug." Jackson made small talk then steered the chat to drugs. "I was excited about the concerts. He was saying, 'Mmm, I know', but seemed reluctant - not like someone ready to do so many concerts. He kept talking about the 'pain' it caused him when people were unkind. And he seemed stressed out and upset - I felt like his counsellor. "He started saying how he couldn't trust a doctor here and asked what would happen if the kids got sick. "Then he turned it round and said, 'Do you think you could look after me?'" Susan then realised Jackson was referring to members of her family who worked in medicine. She said: "Then he said there were medications he took in the States that he needed. He said the names but they didn't mean much to me. "The one name I recognised was Diprivan. I knew it was something to do with anaesthetics and thought that seemed strange. But Michael kept saying, 'They're just routine'." As well as Diprivan - suspected to have led to his death - the list included other restricted drugs. Susan said: "That's when I got really suspicious." To escape the intense atmosphere in the suite she pretended she needed the toilet. But when she went to the star's bathroom, she discovered yet more addictive pills piled up in boxes next to the sink. The stash included Sertraline, Lofepramine, another antidepressant, and Zopiclone, a hypnotic drug used to treat insomnia. The labels suggested a UK-based doctor was prescribing them. She decided on the spot to put the boxes in her bag to keep them away from Jackson - and to check if they really were "just routine". She still has them at home in case they are needed as evidence in the police inquiry into his death. She said: "In the end, I just told him, 'I'll sort you out' because I wanted to get out of there. One of his minders drove me back to Paddington. "He told me, 'You're in a position to help Mike, so why don't you?' The implication was that it would be better for me if I did it." Jackson was mobbed by fans that night as he took older children Prince Michael and Paris to see West End musical Oliver! But away from the cameras, he was ringing to check if Susan was OK with the deal. She said: "Even then, I wasn't convinced he was an addict. I was wondering if maybe he was really sick, maybe he had cancer and he was dying. But he kept ringing for days afterwards. In the end, I had to switch my phone off." Susan talked Jackson's proposal through with two trusted friends. Then she emailed him on March 20, saying "Dude, I'm really sorry, I can't help you with what you asked me to do. I just don't feel that it is right and I don't want to get myself or anyone else into trouble. "I don't think you're being fair putting me in that position. If you are sick in any way or you need help, get it sorted with your GP in the USA. I'm there for you if you need to talk but I can't help you if you don't tell me what is going on!!" She said the singer called back five days later on her birthday. "He told me not to worry - he would get someone else to help him out." It was the last time they spoke. Now, Susan is due to fly to the US to meet the Jackson family. She has vowed to help them nail those they hold responsible for Michael's death. She added: "I tried so hard to get him to seek help for his addiction - I just feel guilty I couldn't do more to save him." http://www.mirror.co.uk/n...-21583619/ "we make our heroes in America only to destroy them"

StillDirrty said: I picked this up from MJJC. I thought that it was very interesting. Apparently one of the members has been conversing with Lucy Lester via Facebook.
First off i want everyone to Know that i am not condoning what my dad did or ‘supporting’ him..i just feel there is a bit more to the story than people realise and want everyone to have all the facts. (Also i didn’t know that this story was released and found out how everybody else did, i did not have any input or knowledge of this interview and so do not want to be personally attacked.)
My dad went to Michael’s memorial and Paris was very upset that me and my sister’s did not join him, he did not have the heart to tell her Katherine had told him we couldn’t come even though she specifically told Katherine to invite us (the children), so my dad told her we unfortunately could not make it. Paris then made my dad promise that he would bring us to the private service as she desperately wanted to see us again. Since Katherine has gained full custody of the children my dad’s phone calls have gone unanswered and his emails ignored, and he is devastated that he cannot see his own god children who is loves dearly. (Again, i am not saying what my dad did was a good way to get attention from the family.) Other Jackson family members have been in contact with my dad to say that Katherine is isolating the children from their friends and the people that they want to see, in their words ‘Katherine thinks that the best thing for the children is to isolate them from the world (including friends) as this will help them deal with things better’ these family members also expressed their concern to my dad that they think this is not correct. Jermaine is quoted in an interview saying ‘I have no say in how the children are raised’. Even close friends of Michael’s for years such as Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross have been snubbed by the family and are in despair. My dad and other’s feel that at times like this they need to be seeing friends to get their minds off the tragedy which has happened, instead of being reminded by everything by being isolated, they need to do things and see people like they did when Michael was still alive. Michael would not have wanted his children to be isolated from their friends, he often said that that is what happened in his upbringing and was often ‘lonely’, and would never let his children go through it. Katherine refused Paris’s request to have us at the memorial and it upset me that people such as Shaheen attended the funeral and hadn’t even met him, yet his own goddaughters were refused. Not saying Shaheen had no right to go, i just feel it was unfair he was picked over me and my sisters. When my dad got back from the memorial someone asked him why he did not make a speech and he replied ‘I was asked to make one, but there was a sort of pecking order of who had priority and higher status (fame) that went first and my dad ended up near the bottom of the list.’ My friend told me (as i don’t follow MJ as a fan) that she found it hard to pick out one person that made a speech that hadn’t betrayed Michael in some way in the past, even Brooke Shields who i felt so sorry for with her teary speech i was shocked to find out she hadn’t been too nice to Michael at times. These people had priority over my dad because they were famous over somebody that yes, alot of people had never heard of before but had never uttered a bad word about Michael nor his children in the 30 years they were friends. The speeches were organised by the Jackson family as to who should talk. My dad feels he is being unfairly treated as Michael’s own family members have turned on him in the past, with LaToya going as far as saying in the trial that she believed Michael had molested children, when my dad stood by him through everything and offered a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. So family members that turned on Michael when he needed them the most are allowed contact with the children but my dad who was a loyal friend of Michael’s is kept out in the dark? The other issue raising concern is religion. Katherine clearly favours Jehovah’s Witness, where as Michael wished the children to be Christian and had the children baptised, my dad went to the children’s christening. My dad said that he felt so sad when he saw the picture of Paris clutching the Jehovah’s Bible as he could see in her eyes that she did not wish to do this, but wanted to please her grandma. As my dad said ‘These children are young, Blanket wants to be playing with his action figures, Paris wants to read her books and watch Disney movies, and Prince wants to play his computer games, they don’t want to be going to Jehovah’s meetings.’ (I do not want to offend any Jehovah’s Witnesses). My dad feels strongly that Michael would have wanted his children raised as Christians as he so often said to him yet Katherine is having none of it. Many people have said to me how does your dad know how Michael would have wanted his children raised? If you are aware of the duties of a godparent, then you know they are appointed as the children’s guardian should anything happen to them, i feel that if Michael trusted my dad with this honour, then he would have also shared information with my dad on how he wished the children to be brought up. People are worried and can see a similarity of how Michael was raised and how the children are being raised, and don’t want them to do what they did to Michael by trying to isolate them. Something which people have tried to bring to my attention is the fact that Michael knew his mother’s beliefs, but put her as the children’s guardian none the less. I believe that Michael knew his mother would take good care of the children but however could not have anticipated leaving the children fatherless at such a young age, if he had lived to even 80, the children would be in their 30’s, possibly even married, have children and have their own house and own lives when he passed away, Katherine would only need to be there for support, therefore there would be no need at that age to push her religious beliefs onto the children. Michael broke free from his family and lived his own life with his own mind, so many people wanted to control him and they couldn’t do it in life, so are now doing it in death. Joe hit Michael as a child, LaToya and other family members have turned on him and my dad was not allowed to make a speech as one of his closest friends as he wasn’t famous enough? This is not a family that sticks together when the worst happens, all these comments about Katherine saying ‘'All Katherine wants is what’s best for the children, she only wants to make them happy', after what the public know the family is capable of, i would not say this statement is 100% true. People say that the family are going through a difficult time but everyone knows those children are like dollar signs, whoever has them is fully aware money will be rolling in and none of the family have done much career wise in the past few years, Jermaine and LaToya were on big brother? My dad has lost a dear friend too and many people commented that just watching interviews of him on Michael’s death they could see in his eyes how heartbroken and pained he was. My dad said that no matter what happens Michael will ALWAYS be their father and no one can bring them up the way he did. He does not want to split them up or take them away from their family, all he wants is a say in his best friend, and godchildren’s upbringing if he knows it would have done Michael proud. Maybe Michael would have wanted my dad to speak up for him when he can no longer speak for himself? BULL-SHIT. MICHAEL JACKSON

I believe certain aspects of it because parts of the memorial (although it was very nice) did seem like a popularity contest and some of the people participating didn't even know him or weren't there publicly when he needed them. I will always be suspicious of certain family members i.e. Jermaine, Latoya, and Joe. I don't believe that Liz Taylor is being snubbed but I have been curious as to why Diana has been so quiet. She did make a statement but so did a lot of random celebs with no connection to him whatsoever. Actually a lot of his friends who made statements about his passing are quiet. No defenses are really being made on his behalf by anyone but Miko Brando and Liza did warn people.Jermaine did tell Larry King that they won't be raised as witnesses so that's out of the window. But too many of the Jacksons imo turned out to be crazy so I am watchful of what is going on now even though the kids seem to be doing fine.

Swa When the story first broke Lucy spoke out through facebook though. & if it wasn't really her I'm sure the mod on MJJC would have closed the thread because they kept it open specifically for what she has to say. They plan on asking her more questions i.e. why didn't Mark just contact Katherine through her lawyer etc. but I'm not sure if Lucy would even know the answer to that. Actually now that I think about it Lester is probably trying to save face through Lucy by explaining to the fans that they are just "concerned." Major Michael Jackson Tribute Planned For Vienna August 10 The King of Pop will get a royal send-off next month in Vienna. Events promoter World Awards Media GmbH confirmed Monday that members of Michael Jackson's family and a "high-profile lineup of international stars" are planning a tribute concert in the Austrian capital. Organizers said the venue will be the sprawling grounds of Vienna's former imperial Schoenbrunn Palace, where a giant outdoor multimedia stage shaped like a crown will be built. Jackson's brother Jermaine said recently that Vienna was special for Michael, who "loved castles." Tickets will go on sale Aug. 20. "For one incredible night Michael Jackson's unforgettable music will be brought to life again," World Awards Media said on its Web site. "Some of the world's leading artists will perform Michael's greatest hits live in Vienna in front of one of the most fascinating historical sites in Europe and celebrate the life of the 'King of Pop.'" Organizers said Jermaine Jackson and other family members "will lead a high-profile lineup of international stars on stage to celebrate the life of his brother and perform some of Michael's unforgettable songs." They would not confirm reports that the tribute may include U2, Madonna, Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston. World Awards Media chief Georg Kindel said Monday it would be held in the first part of September. Jackson died June 25 in Los Angeles. Many had expected the tribute to be held in London, where Jackson was booked to perform a series of concerts, or a larger European capital such as Berlin, Paris or Rome. But Friday, on "Larry King Live," Jermaine Jackson said Vienna was "a very dear place for Michael." "And he loved castles. And we're going to have this huge celebration in front of a castle," Jermaine Jackson said. Spokespeople for promoters AEG Live, which had been organizing Jackson's London concerts, had no immediate comment on the Vienna tribute. But London fans expressed displeasure. "If he likes castles, they could've done it anywhere in the UK. We've got them here, too," said Peter Chowng, a 42-year-old London businessman. Kindel said he hoped to secure official permission within the next eight days to hold the concert at Schoenbrunn. The venue has enough standing room to accommodate 85,000 people. The daily Oesterreich said giant screens would be set up in parks around Vienna to handle the huge overflow crowds expected. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Schoenbrunn dates to the 14th century, but it's best known for more recent occupants: members of the royal Habsburg dynasty, which ruled the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Jermaine Jackson said, in a statement on World Awards Media's Web site, that the concert was conceived as an annual event to keep alive not only Michael Jackson's music, "but his spirit as well." Kindel said a "not insignificant" portion of the proceeds would go to the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, which helps patients who can't afford heart surgery. Monday's announcement drew an angry reaction from an organization calling itself Resistance for Peace Vienna. The group, citing Jackson's legal entanglements over allegations of child molestation, sent Vienna City Hall and Schoenbrunn's supervisory board a letter urging authorities not to approve. http://www.chron.com/disp...67078.html

He claims since she was given custody of them all of his emails and phone calls to them have gone unanswered. source: http://news.sky.com/skyne...n_Ceremony daily mirror is a TABLOID

Billie Jean Jackson is at the court hearings
http://www.tmz.com/ UPDATE: Now for our Maury Povich moment of the day. Billie Jean just stood up and said "I am Blanket's mother and I am concerned about what's going on." She added, "I would like for all probate proceedings to be halted." The judge was polite and told her she could submit papers. She's walking downstairs so we're firing up our live stream for your entertainment.

Oh shit, Katherine's mad:
Jackson's mother objects to deals updated 1 hour, 22 minutes ago By Alan Duke CNN LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The dispute between Michael Jackson's mother and the men Jackson chose to run his estate after his death threatens to delay or derail plans for a documentary of the pop singer's last days. Katherine Jackson has accused the executors of her son Michael's estate of "keeping her in the dark." Katherine Jackson's lawyers objected in court Monday to the deals made by the Michael Jackson estate's special administrators with concert promoter AEG Live and merchandising company Bravado. The lawyer for AEG Live, which promoted Jackson's shows in London, England, told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff that the company has already made many concessions to the estate and could not make more. She suggested the company might walk away from the deals, which would include production of a documentary about Jackson's last months using Jackson rehearsal video. Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for the special administrators, told the judge the deals were "aggressively negotiated and reflect the exhaustion of all parties on give and take, and greatly benefit the estate." "I don't believe there is room for more negotiation," Weitzman said. Provisions of the agreements state that if Beckloff does not approve them by the end of Monday, the deals would be canceled and would have to be renegotiated. The judge has previously said he may approve them even if Katherine Jackson objects. The judge ordered a break in the hearing to allow the two sides to talk while he looked at Katherine Jackson's objection. He said he received her objection only minutes before the hearing began Monday morning. Beckloff on Friday approved a contract with Columbia Pictures, which had Katherine Jackson's blessing, but that deal depends on the other agreements also being approved by the judge. Jermaine Jackson, Michael Jackson's older brother, told CNN's Larry King last week that he likes the deals, which he said could bring in nearly $100 million into the Michael Jackson estate. Katherine Jackson and Jackson's three children are the main beneficiaries of the estate, which is controlled by Jackson's former lawyer, John Branca, and longtime Jackson friend and music executive John McClain.

Jermaine is sure not on the same page with the other Jacksons, in terms of what's going on.

Family rift. I noticed it in Jermaine's comments on his interview last week.
