It's a smart thing for Kanye to do - so as to be associated with Michael in the same breath and get people talking about him. Sadly though such a comparison might have him go the way of Hammer a la 2 Legit 2 Quit.

Since 1979-182 the media (and some artists) have tried to call "the next Michael Jackson". You had Prince, Hammer, Bobby Brown, Usher, Genuwine, Justin Timberlake, Ne-you, Chris Brown all have the tag given to them at one time or other.

Truth just like there was only ever one Marvin, one James, on Stevie, one Prince there will always only be one Michael.
