I was sent this song on cassette by a fellow Prince fan years ago because they thought it was a duet with Prince.

I'd never heard it before but even though it wasn't Prince I really liked the song.

I really love this song! It appears on a collection of hers which of course concentrates on her disco stuff (which is really good...not just "Knock On Wood"). I wonder if her other eighties material is good. I don't think it's easy to find.

Come to think of it, this was the only tune I remember hearing from her in the mid-80's--and I could never find the albums, only the single!

That was me nod

Yeah I finally bought the 12" years ago and looked on the net and saw the background singer name. I think that guy on the radio was confused or he said "Friends"... LOVE THIS SONG. Reminds me of my mom. She used to sing it while washing the dishes over and over.
Straight Jacket Funk Affair

"Try Love is a studio album by Amii Stewart first released in the Italy in 1984 which includes singles "That Loving Feeling" (written by Tony Joe White), "I Gotta Have You Back" and "Try Love." After the commercial success of the 1985 single "Friends," the album was re-released internationally with an extended remix of the song replacing track "Mother Mary." Try Love remains unreleased on compact disc."
