I love the first track, the 2nd sounds a mess at the start but then edges back into brilliance.

Thanks! I'm a huge P.J. fan. It's hard to tell too much about the songs because she's performing solo, not with a full band.
But I'm glad she's going back to doing guitar songs. I think that style fits her voice best. I wasn't too big on the piano driven stuff on White Chalk, but loved her last record with John Parish.
