It was recorded in 1976 but has never been previously released!

It's called Is It Love Or Desire.

More info here and here.

Yeah, I read about this. I am SOOOOO getting this. I LOVE Davis. I have all of her albums so this would make it complete.

Excellent news! I love me some Betty Davis. I hope this record jams as hard as "Nasty Gal" and "They Say I'm Different". I play those two records all the time!

I go crazy over stuff like this....unreleased albums that have been sitting in the vaults all of these years. It's great when they release this stuff.Does anyone know the story of this album. Why wasn't it released back in 1976? Have bootleg copies been circulating among fans all these years?

yeah, i thought it was the "crashin from passion" album at first, and even though there is a connection with this album and that one, it's a completely different set of songs. and listening to the preview clips, this album sounds tons better than "crashin'". i can't wait to hear this!

it was barely released. you can find versions of it that were released over the years, though it's of course way out of print and not the most inexpensive collector's item in the world.

That was the title it was released as in 1996, it had been released as Hangin' Out in Hollywood, or at least was going to in 1979. I think Betty quit show business shortly after complications with this album.

This release is coming out of the blue. I don't think I've ever seen a reference to a 1976 recording in any articles on her. Who had the master tapes?
