I've been cataloging my vinyl collection....(45s, 12", and some 78s!) I came across this gem yesterday! Great song! Teddy! He was wearing that purple, rockin' that process with those sideburns! (Was his belly out?! When I was a kid, U couldn't tell my Mom A THING about Teddy! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

I like this song. Not my favorite Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes song. My favorite is probably "You Know How To Make Me Feel So Good".
My favorite album from them is "Black and Blue". Their debut is my 2nd favorite. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

All Music: The second Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes single featuring Sharon Paige. The first, "Hope That We Get Together Soon," did much better on the charts with a number one R&B, number 42 pop showing, but this erotic floater, the flip of the group's 1976 "Tell The World How I Feel," is more soothing to the ears. Its rolling rhythm reminds of William DeVaughn's "Be Thankful for What You Got"; the lead vocals by Melvin, Paige, and Teddy Pendergrass are red light sensuous. Significant on the East Coast, it received mostly secondary market play everywhere else; huge in Akron, OH, but not as large in nearby Cleveland, for instance. You weren't in an Akron bar more than 15 minutes before someone punched this on the juke and everybody got his or her sway on. Record Company site: HAROLD MELVIN & THE BLUE NOTES - WAKE UP EVERYBODY In late 1975, after three glorious hitmaking years, the Blue Notes recorded their fourth and final album together for PIR with “intransigent baritone stylist” Teddy Pendergrass (as he is characterized in Joe McEwen’s liner notes), “a powerhouse of a singer” (in the words of Philly arranger Bobby Martin). The album rose to #1 R&B (and Top 10 pop) on the strength of its title tune opening cut, a sermonizing message song written by McFadden & Whitehead that charted four months and gave the Blue Notes their fourth and final #1 R&B smash. The follow-up was “Tell The World How I Feel About ‘Cha Baby,” whose B-side, “You Know How To Make Me Feel So Good,” featured TP’s vocal foil Sharon Paige. Also included on the album was the original version of “Don’t Leave Me This Way,” which shortly after became a disco smash for Thelma Houston. Ultimately, the Blue Notes’ success paved the way for Teddy’s departure in 1976, and the start of his solo career at PIR in 1977. Tom Moulton’s 12-inch mix of “Don’t Leave Me This Way” is the welcome bonus track. [Edited 7/30/09 8:03am] [Edited 7/30/09 8:05am] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Oh...so it was a B-side that still got some airplay.
One of my favorite songs on the album is the final track "Searching For A Love" which doesn't really feature Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes at all
