Anyone have Rick James Get up and dance (link to a sample clip) Anyone have it?
You can listen to a sample of it by clicking the link below. It's one of Rick's singles before his fame with Motown. Scroll down to the picture that has a tan background and two images of the single. Directly above the left picture of the single, click the little play symbol next to "Soundclip: (click play button to listen)" http://www.popsike.com/ra...42935.html

Early Rick James single from 1976 I like it.
When will there be a Rick James box set?! There are alot of rarities that could be included. In addition to this song, there is the 'White Cane' album, plus an entire unreleased 1989 album called 'Kickin'.

I've heard samples of some of the tracks on the "Great White Cane" album and they sounded like a preview of what was yet to come in 1978. I definately want this album. Andy is a four letter word.

I also found his other two pre-motown albums on there, Great White Cain LP and the other 45 single "My Mama"/"Funkin' Around". My Mama is okay but Funkin' Around is a great instrumental IMO.

I have my mama, but it's the promo version with both songs on the same side. The retail version b/w with funkin' around is impossible to get, atleast for me. If you know how to make MP3s out of 45s, please send it to me! I'm also looking for two singles from two early bands that Rick James was a part of. The first is a Song called Hollywood Star Pt 1 b/w hollywood star pt 2 by the band "Hot Lips". The second is by "Heaven And Earth" You Make The Magic (Released before the White Cane version) B/w Rip off 1500 (the only H & E song not rerecorded by White Cane) Here are the rare Rick James stuff I have as Mp3s 01) Heaven and Earth - Big Show Down (Recorded and released before the White Cane version) 02) Rick James - My MaMa 03) Rick James - kickin' (whole unreleased 1989 album) 04) White Cane - The whole album 05) The Mynah Birds (Rick James lead vocals) - It's my Time(Finished version), Go on and cry (Finished version), Go on and cry (Rough demo version), I got you in my soul (rough demo), I'll Wait Forever (rough Demo)
