I think it's obvious someone wrote that for him, but he seems sincere to me. I would never condone violence against anyone, but Chris is a young guy barely ouy of his teens and he made a horrible mistake. Why should his career be ruined? There have been many stars who have been in trouble, like the person in my avatar/sig confused, as well as others like James Brown, David Ruffin, etc. Those two were great talents and legends, but had a history of abusing women, yet their careers never suffered because of it. Why should Chris'? He was wrong, he admitted it and apologized. Hopefully, nothing like this will ever happen again and I hope he's learned his lesson. I wish both him and Rihanna the best.

Thats because TMZ Perez Hilton and blogs did not exsist. The papers would have not even released an abuse victims photograph in the papers. If they did I dont think their stardom would have lasted that long.

Well that's a good point, but then again look at someone like Ike Turner. His career never recovered after Tina came out and said he had abused her and he was labeled a woman beater for the rest of his life.

Good to see so many chivalrous and courteous men on here...men after my own heart in fact.

I personally have never and wouldn't hit a woman...I wouldn't allow a woman to affect me that much.

But Chris has been demonised enough...will he be demonised now 4 the rest of his life now...like Michael?

For a bit of balance though...what of Rihanna's character? Was she blameless?...

If the rumour is true... that she cheated on him and therefore like many modern women, has mistaken female liberation for sexual promiscuity and this was the reason for the altercation...why he lost it...you see because no man in his right mind would want to be seen as a woman 'beater', whatever.

Advice to men..be aware of some female manipulation, womanly wiles...respect your manhood...choose a woman of class, not based on your hormones alone.

Lastly, for all the feminists out there...who feel there are no differences between men and women...you want equality...so what's wrong with men and women hitting each other?

You can't really have it both ways.

And if anyone dares to debate me on feminism...make sure u do your homework... from Betty Friedan onwards...ha!

biggrin

I'm trying not to be boxed mad boxed mad lol

Ok, I will say this:

Men should definitely choose a woman of class and not based on how much they want to get in her pants. With that said....aint gonna happen.

Now I happen to think that CB is not being demonized save for Rihanna fan sites and a few talk shows here and there (Oprah and Nancy Grace). Other shows have been somewhat neutral. CB got a good ass deal. He got no jail time whereas a non celeb probably would have gotten at least a year behind bars. That in and of itself is not fair.

Was Rihanna without blame? Tough question because you have to ask 'is there ever a time when it's okay to hit a woman?' The rumor is that she found out HE was cheating on her with his manager/agent or some chick by checking his cell phone. They argued, she threw out his car keys and the whole thing got out of hand. I'm sure she probably threw in some harsh words but in reading the transcripts of the police report which were aired on the net and looking at the photos of Rihanna, CB was wrong - case closed. He doesn't deserve forgiveness from us so much as from Rihanna and that's what I don't like about this video taped and rehearsed apology.

I just think he's got some shows lined up and a new CD bout to drop so he wants to make sure there are some fans left out there. Remember he was tryiing to act also. He doesn't want to be viewed as another OJ. And truthfully, he could have killed Rihanna. Some women die from beatings.

nah. Ike's career never recovered after Tina left him in the first place. did the allegations of abuse come out at that time? or was it not until she wrote her book?

He's way late with this and I'm not sure it was such a good look. He could be sincere but instead of looking straight into the camera like MJ did back in the day, CB appears to be reading off a cue card or something. lol

Most people seem to think he did this because his CD will be coming out soon. Chris should've hired a real PR team a long time ago. He's made all the wrong moves throughout this whole ordeal.

He'll have to follow up this video with real action in order to make a serious bid at redeeming his image.

I think he's more sorry about what he did to his career than what he did to Rhianna. I put him in the same category now that I had to put R. Kelly in: They both may have a certain amount of talent, but I won't be supporting any of their projects going forward. Chris Brown was just a boy that was given too much too soon, and I feel that he blew it (...big time!).

Well wasnt HE the one that was cheating with his ex manager now? Your "facts" are rumors..its been seen that the text messages between him and his manager clearly showed some promiscuity...then all of a sudden he fires her a week after the incident to take the light off..... rolleyes

Calm down 'paisleypark4!'...when did I mention the word 'fact'...I actually made a point of saying rumour!...sheeoot...

Plus, I might engage in proper conversation if u addressed some of the other points I make rather than quoting one point...too many youngsters on here wanting to be right all the time...sheesh...

To everyone else...you're focusing so hard on this young man Chris Brown's mistake... who's not even fully mature yet!...the time to make mistakes is when you're young!...but y'all don't seem patient enough to see if he'll learn from it.

It's like one strike and you're out...no redemption...ridiculous, he's just a kid really.

tut tut!...anyway... any confirmation that he hasn't already apologised to Rhianna in private?...or does everyone want that done in public too?...

So basically he's gonna be doing Naomi Campbell's old job. Eh, he got off easy. He should have had to do 12 rounds in a cage fight with some jail house dude aint been laid in 5 years. The winner gets CB's house.
