I love a well-made music documentary - no matter whether I like the artist or not. On the weekend, I watched 'Cracked Actor' - one of the best music documentaries ever produced. If you haven't seen it, I totally recommend it! It's a glimpse into David Bowie's life on the road during his 1974 U.S. tour:

If you haven't seen it... watch it now! It covered every base... it was funny, stupid, heartwarming, ridiculous, cringeworthy, touching. I loved it.

And it's worth watching just for the scenes with their tour manager...

I've seen both of those. I like it when Dave's singing along in the car to Aretha Franklin "aa-OO"...

Yeah, I love Cracked actor. Especially when hes drinking milk and comparing himself to the fly floating in it!

Lou Reed in "American Masters" was pretty darn good.

Another favourite of mine was the Marvin Gaye documentary Timmy84 posted in several parts a while back... fascinating and heartbreaking.

I really like "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart," first, because I love Wilco, and second, because I found it a fascinating look into the ridiculous world of record labels and record execs.

I also really liked the Metallica documentary (the name of which currently escapes me).

I know nothing about Wilco but would love to see that. Ib some ways, it sounds similar to that Hanson documentary on YouTube.

And the Metallica documentary... is that the one where they all go for group therapy. I've seen clips and would really like to see it.

"The Gits" is a documentary about the 90s band The Gits. They were in Seattle in the early 90s, but they were more punk than grunge. Things were starting to happen for them, but their career was cut tragically short when their lead singer was raped and murdered. The movie shows concert footage of the band from the 90s, as well as interviews with the band's surviving members.
