Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" for $6.99

Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising" which was by far my favorite album of the year and was a critical favorite as well is available at both Target and Best Buy for $6.99.

I'm guessing that it's some kind of promotion by Columbia records so it may be available elsewhere for a low price.

Anyway...I implore anyone and everyone to buy this record and give it a chance. You won't be sorry big grin It's so much more than a 9/11 tribute as some people like to paint it.

My favorite tracks off the album are "Into the Fire", "Empty Sky", "Let's Be Friends (Skin to Skin)", "Waitin' On a Sunny Day" and "My City of Ruins", but trust me virtually all the tracks are great.

and if you can still find any, pick up the limited edtion version of it that's shaped like a book... very nice indeed...

"the fuse" is also a killer track on there... bruce does a killer job on this song... if he doesn't release this as a single a real soulman (issac, al, prince, somebody) needs to jump up on this one...

"a quiet afternoon, an empty house
on the edge of the bed, you slip off your blouse
the room is burning with the noon sun
your bittersweet taste on my tongue

the fuse is burning
shut out the lights
the fuse is burning
come on, let me do you right"

I have a lot of respect for Bruce Springsteen, but musically, I just ain't feelin' him.
He seems like a class act.

I totally agree.

Now I feel that starting this thread wasn't a waste of my time. Trust me this cd also gets better with repeated listens.
