I wonder why Rolling Bored opted to use a photo from 2005 to delve into MJ's final days.

Maybe because it's a rare picture (at least it was) and also you can see the sadness in his eyes. he may have been vindicated, but he was truly heartbroken. The picture captures that. Sad...

The Michael Jackson Case: The Return of the Nanny
By Bryan Alexander / Los Angeles Wednesday, Jul. 22, 2009

An enigmatic woman in Michael Jackson's inner circle is re-emerging just as the battle over the guardianship and paternity of his kids continues. Grace Rwaramba — the Rwandan nanny of Prince Michael I, 12; Paris Michael Katherine, 11; and Prince Michael II (known as Blanket), 7 — is the woman Jackson insiders describe as the most maternal personality the children have known. She left Jackson's employ, perhaps dismissed, last year but is now staging a comeback that may be key to the fate of the three young Jacksons. Indeed, her return to the side of the children — and the Jackson clan — may reinforce, at least in the public eye, the family's claim to being the best guarantors of the children's well-being.

Rwaramba worked for Jackson for 17 years, first as his secretary and then, after the children arrived, as their nanny. According to sources, Rwaramba is resuming the work she did throughout the children's lives. Her job ended abruptly in 2008 when she was allegedly fired by Jackson for yet-established reasons. Since his death, however, sources say Rwaramba has resumed child-caring duties at the Jackson clan's Encino, Calif., compound and was seen taking the children to Jehovah's Witness classes. (See photos: "A Post-Michael Guide to the Jackson Family.")

Introduced to Jackson by his friend Deepak Chopra, Rwaramba was such a constant in the singer's life that there were even rumors that they were secretly married. But according to documents filed in Nevada's Clark County, she was married to her first husband during the majority of her employment with Jackson and married her second husband, Joseph Kisembo, in December 2008. There were other, almost Svengali-like rumors. "I hear some odd things about her — this woman in the background with all of this power, flexing her muscles," says former Jackson spiritual adviser Firpo Carr. "That's not the Grace I know. Unless she has this other secret life I don't know about," says Carr. "She is one of the humblest people I have been around."

Others are sensitive to the pivotal position Rwaramba occupied in Jackson's life. "You have to be aware of the most powerful nanny in the universe," says a former Jackson confidant. "She was the gatekeeper for Michael, and she wielded that power. She absolutely did."(Read "Paris Jackson's Heartfelt Goodbye.")

Her influence on the children was undeniable. "Grace was like the mother, and Michael was the father," says Jackson friend and filmmaker Bryan Michael Stoller, who often visited Neverland. "The only person I saw get close to the kids besides Michael was Grace." Rwaramba returned at their time of crisis. The actor Mark Lester, star of the movie musical Oliver! and godfather to Jackson's children, spoke to her soon after the singer's sudden death and describes her as "shocked and grief stricken." Still, Lester tells TIME, "she's a very strong person, and she's a tower of strength for the children. She is the closest thing to a mother that they have ever experienced." While not sure if her return is permanent, he adds, "Right now, it's important they have some continuity."

Carr says some of the talk about Grace came about as a result of her loyal silence about Jackson. In a world where former friends and employees often sold their version of life with Jackson to the highest tabloid bidder, Rwaramba maintained her secrets. (Read "Rowe Undecided on Jackson Kids Custody Battle.")

There was therefore disbelief at a story that appeared shortly after Jackson's June 25 death. Britain's Sunday Times wrote a piece quoting Rwaramba allegedly giving explosive details about Jackson's drug use. The story cited her attempts to curb his addiction as the reason she was let go. "I had to pump his stomach many times. He always mixed so much of it," the paper quoted Rwaramba as saying. "There was one period that it was so bad that I didn't let the children see him ... He always ate too little and mixed too much." Rwaramba quickly put out a statement disavowing the piece: "I don't even know how to pump a stomach." She said she had never spoken to the Sunday Times: "The statements attributed to me confirm the worst in human tendencies to sensationalize tragedy and smear reputations for profit."

The incident did little to damage her relationship with the family. The next day, Joe Jackson, the star's father, publicly called Rwaramba "a good friend of the family and to the kids," going so far as to say a more permanent role in their lives was under consideration. Rwaramba was also given prime position in the official Michael Jackson souvenir book at the lavish public memorial. "Thank you for entrusting me with your precious children, my love for them will never waver," she wrote in its final solo entry.

"She is totally dedicated to the children and will do whatever it takes to make the children happy," Chopra tells TIME. "She will play a large part in those children's lives," says Carr. Her work may be key as details of Jackson's alleged drug use emerge. Addiction specialist Dr. Drew Pinksy tells TIME that children of addicted parents frequently suffer from a sense of abandonment, but the caring, "emotionally available" support that Jackson set up could provide a "life-saving link that might help these children stay healthy. I'm praying for the status quo for these kids." In the eyes of many Jackson watchers, Rwaramba is that status quo.

From Hitsdailydouble:

TOP SCORERS: We've seen M.J. hot streaks carry a team many times in the past, and it’s happening again at Sony Music, which tallied a 36% marketshare on the week, with Epic accounting for a third of it. Fans preference for remembering Michael via shiny round things continued, as sales were heavily weighted toward physical product over downloads. Compare these percentages to year-to-date figures of27% and change for Sony and 4.3% for Epic. (7/22a)

SONY STILL SHIP-SHAPE WITH JACKSON: Sony Music Entertainment world shipment totals on Michael Jackson albums are now up to 15.5 million and counting. Check today's album chart here for the latest Jackson sales explosions, as he sports five in the Top 10 and eight in the Top 20. (7/21p)

THEY LOVE LOVATO

Jackson Sales Cool, But He Still Could be King of Pop Chart Next Week

July 22, 2009

Hollywood Records' newest diva could have herself a #1 album next week, though the King of Pop very much remains a factor.

Demi Lovato will have the week's top debut with her Here We Go Again album, with a total that should hit between 110-120k, but she could well lose out in the race for #1 on the HITS Album chart to Michael Jackson, whose Number Ones is currently seeing increased numbers at several accounts, thanks to a fresh round of physical product from Sony, part of the company's worldwide outlay of 15.5 million albums. See, the old machine can crank up pretty good if there's a reason to.

19/Jive/JLG's Idol winner Jordin Sparks returns with her sophomore album, which should do betrween 45-50k, which should be good enough for a Top 10 debut.

Veteran Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace, on their own label through WMG's Independent Label Group, is looking at first-week sales between10-15k

The market was down 7% vs. last week, down 9% vs. same week last year and still down 14% year-to-date.

The Michael Jackson Movie You Never Saw
July 22

Interview Link: http://link.brightcove.co...0221875001

He may be known for his music, but few knew Michael Jackson also enjoyed another artistic outlet: the movies.

The King of Pop's long association with a small-time filmmaker led to a featured role in a campy 2007 film unknown to many of his fans, and may well have led to another project he was developing.

"He was very excited about making movies and wanted his hands on everything, from working on screenplays to producing, to writing the music," said B-movie producer, writer and director Bryan Michael Stoller of Jackson, who starred in the 1978 pic "The Wiz." "However, he never showed any interest in acting,"

Three months before his death, Stoller says Jackson committed to co-directing and financing a movie -- a poignant drama about foster children -- and planned to get started as soon as he completed his London concerts.

It's a small indie project that might not have exactly been getting a big studio rollout or a prime spot at Sundance. But like other posthumous revelations, the news sheds light on the wide-ranging, if often quirky, excursions the singer made when he wasn't cultivating his career as a pop star.

Stoller said he had a 23-year friendship with the pop star and was his partner in the film company Magic Shadows. He was to have co-directed the movie, called "They Cage the Animals at Night," which Stoller said they had been developing for seven years.

The project was based on a 1985 book about the real-life experiences of author Jennings Michael Burch, who bounced around foster homes as a child. Jackson showed the book to Stoller in 2002 at his Neverland estate and asked if he wanted to produce and co-direct a movie version.

"Michael told me often he felt like he grew up as an orphan, like a foster kid, because he never was in one home," Stoller said. "To him every hotel was like a different foster home. He said he used to sit in the window and see kids playing outside and cry because he couldn't be part of that."

But insiders in the Jackson camp said there was no formal deal in place for any Jackson involvement in "Cage"; discussions between the artist and Stoller occurred when Jackson was without management, which may have frowned on any distractions as he prepared for the London shows.

Stoller optioned the book for $1 -- initially without telling Burch about Jackson's involvement. When he did tell him, Stoller said the author was excited to work with the singer.

Jackson, meanwhile, was concerned that Burch, then 67 and suffering from cancer, might not survive to see the movie made. So Stoller suggested bringing Burch to Neverland in 2003, where Jackson turned the tables and interviewed him for what was to be a TV special and for the eventual DVD.

Stoller recorded their meeting, which added to a collection of videos he made with Jackson over the years, and to hours of audio recordings from their meetings.

Stoller told THR he has now come forward because he believes this material humanizes his friend at a time when much myth-making about Jackson is taking place. The producer also is marketing his video, audio and photos either for outright sale or as a project he would produce and direct.

He said he already has had interest from NBC, CBS and E!

Jackson's last film foray was a 2005 comedic farce, "Miss Cast Away and the Island Girls," produced, written and directed by Stoller. Jackson is briefly in the movie as Agent M.J., who comes to the rescue of various characters on a beam of light. The movie was a direct-to-DVD release sold briefly at Blockbuster stores.

When Jackson was indicted on child molestation charges shortly after its release, Blockbuster pulled the film from its shelves. "Miss Castaway" has been sold overseas by Showcase Entertainment, and Stoller said he has offers for a new domestic video release for Jackson's last movie appearance.

"They Cage the Animals" also was impacted by the molestation charges, Stoller said. In 2003 the producer arranged a three-hour meeting in a Universal City hotel between Jackson and Mel Gibson, who besides being an actor is a producer and partner in Icon Prods. "They got along great," Stoller said. "It was kind of funny. Mel was a little nervous. He was hugging a pillow the whole time, kind of playing with it. Michael was kind of shy."

Icon signed a deal to develop the project with a budget of $12 million-$20 million, according to Stoller, who was paid by Icon to write the screenplay. A couple months later, when Jackson was indicted in Santa Barbara, Icon put the project in turnaround, and Gibson stopped returning Stoller's phone calls. There were news reports in 2005 that Icon had dropped the project. A spokesman for Icon said the company briefly was involved in developing it in 1995 but had lost interest by 1997. Stoller has a copy of his contract with Icon dated 2002.

Stoller said Icon still owns the screenplay, but an Icon rep rebutted that, saying the company has had no involvement or ownership for 10 years. Gibson declined comment for this report.

Jackson did meet with Burch, and during their highly charged conversation he asked the author if he had ever considered suicide. Burch said he had, and Jackson said he too had considered it during his darkest days.

Jackson lost contact with Stoller for about two years during the period when the singer was on trial. But after his acquittal, Jackson reached out to him. They had watched dozens of movies in the Neverland theater; Stoller said Jackson's favorite was "To Kill a Mockingbird," and that they also discussed doing a remake of the comedy musical "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."

"When Jackson called in 2007, he still had movies on his mind," Stoller said. "He had begun to purchase movie production equipment. He was always asking how things work, but I never saw him really work things. But he wanted all the toys. He bought a dolly and wanted me to show the kids how to use it because they were using it as a play toy, riding around on it."

Jackson wasn't interested in making a blockbuster. "He wanted to do movies the Academy would like," Stoller recalled.

Three months before his death, Stoller said he and Jackson had "a pretty serious meeting" about reviving "They Cage the Animals" as an indie feature.

"Michael was going to put up $8 million and not have to deal with any studios or producers and then take it to the studios afterward," Stoller said. "He was very passionate about being a director. He was determined to make this movie."

Sony Eyes Oct. 30 Release Date For Michael Jackson Film
July 22, 2009

Michael Jackson may be thrilling audiences in theaters around Halloween.

Sony Pictures, which is finalizing a deal to acquire concert rehearsal footage from the singer's "This Is It" tour from AEG Entertainment, is eyeing an Oct. 30 release date for the film.

The opening bid for the performance footage started at $50 million, and Sony is said to be ponying up close to $60 million for the 80 hours filmed.

Fox, Universal, Paramount and Relativity were also interested in putting in bids.

Sony made more sense, however, considering Sony Music Entertainment owns music publishing rights to Jackson's songs.

Terms of the deal are still being worked out, but the Jackson family estate is expected to collect 90% of what's left after AEG recoups its production costs for the tour.

AEG owns the footage, filmed by "High School Musical" helmer Kenny Ortega. He'll assemble the pic, which will feature at least three videos, including an alternative version of Jackson's "Thriller," shot to be interstitial programming during Jackson's 50-night concert stand in London that was to have started this month.

The footage was meant to play in 3-D, but it's unclear as yet whether the feature film will present it that way.

Sony declined to comment on the deal.

So basically,it'll be a concert film consisting of rehearsal footage? I know it'll be a huge success at the box office.

I heard it will be more like a documentary style film chronically his return to the stage.Im looking forward to seeing it.

I am certified in CPR and we are taught that after 1 min of CPR you call for help. Also after a couple of minutes of CPR you could tire out- it wasn't possible for him to keep going for 30 min. wothout hyper ventilating himself. I think he was runnin around trying to save his ass- hiding stuff, etc...

there was no reason why it should have taken that long to call for help.

YES clapping you are so right.

I don;t buy that shit, he didn't call because he didn't know the address either. rolleyes it wasn't a secret hideout for goodness sake, wasn't TMZ there with footage of the ambulance leaving and a city tour bus was stopping by? Someone working at 911 or the fire department was bound to know where to go. not to mention satalite shit they can do to track your phone.

I don't know about murder charges but that is very fishy to me.

I was wondering what had happened with that movie. I think I saw something about it on ET awhile ago/ as it was being made? They said something to the affect of "...and what movie is being shot at Neverland!?... findout after the break" lol

I've seen clips previously and it's...well... no Citizen Kane, by the looks of it. lol

am i the only one who thinks that he hould be charged for murder for the simple fact that he waited 30 minutes before calling for help?

I am certified in CPR and we are taught that after 1 min of CPR you call for help. Also after a couple of minutes of CPR you could tire out- it wasn't possible for him to keep going for 30 min. wothout hyper ventilating himself. I think he was runnin around trying to save his ass- hiding stuff, etc...

there was no reason why it should have taken that long to call for help.

I AGREE, seriously...30 minutes!!!!

do u know what i can do in 30 minutes and then excuses are so lame.

he's been going to MJ's house almost everyday and he don't know the address confused

he had a cell phone for pete's sake!

and then CPR on the bed!

and then he fled from the hospital like a coward

YES clapping you are so right.

I don;t buy that shit, he didn't call because he didn't know the address either. rolleyes it wasn't a secret hideout for goodness sake, wasn't TMZ there with footage of the ambulance leaving and a tour bus was stopping by?

I don't know about murder charges but that is very fishy to me.

even if he od'd on his own and was found by the good doctor- wasnt there at least an alrm to trigger ? ok he said he couldnt find a land line and that he didn't use his cell because he didn't know the address- if Michael Jackosn was dying in my arms I would have 911ed so fast on my cell phone - they would have had to use gps to find me or something. It would have been on record that I immediately called and they would have stayed online with me as I administered CPR or what ever else he did- until the police found me. That whole no phone mess is BS- the good doctor needs to go down hmph!
LOVE HARD.
