well, with all due respect, i can understand kathryn's pain. when i was a little girl, my father had an affair and had two girls out of wedlock. i knew of them but we didn't grow up together, my mother never told me to treat them or their mother disrespectfully, and i never did. but do i have a relationship with them now, or do i view them the way i view my brother, my mother's son? no, i don't. my mother wasn't part of a harem; she was my father's wife. i'm sorry that my father chose not to honor his vows to my mother, and i'm not going to pretend that i see those girls as anything other than a symbol of my mother's humiliation. you might think that's mean, but it's honest. i understand kathryn not wanting to have evidence of joseph's affair thrown up in her face.
