I'll have to go with D'angelo vocally he's less predictable. I like Max but I know where he's going to go vocally in every song.

Maxwell. His first cd was a masterpiece. His singing is great and he has a great band. I love to listen to the music on his cd just as much as hear him sing. He has also released more music. I hope he doesn't wait too long to release another cd becaues people won't be so kind next time. This is so true...the entire Statement. So Far the post are kinda having these two dead even. I like Max over D.....tending to lean towards the sexiness he has in his style. D'Angelo fans like the thug in him....I have a favorite thug but it's not D it's T.I.! hahaha I appreciate both of their talent and it is kind of hard to compare these two...there have been some good points listed for the two. Maxwell album will do well but he better take heed on the space that he releases the next one. Cool thread topic! "A Man Can't Ride Your Back Unless It's Bent" MLK 4/3/68

Maxwell Why is this even a contest? Take a listen to MTV unplugged and that'll solve this mystery

I like them both, but Maxwell's style is smoother and sexier like Prince on volume. He's more of a crooner where as D'Angelo's style is mostly gritty funk. They both use 'real music' which I love. D'Angelo did pay homage to Prince with that untitled joint and you know he was inspired by him (arranging, producing, writing). For now Maxwell wins based on my love of love songs.

Like I've said before, I used to make love to my partner w/ that Unplugged CD in the background. Made for some incredibly passionate and hot times. And I'm not one who usually likes music going during sex, but this one was a hit....as I hit it. Ovah and ovah again.

I think the thug in D'angelo at first was part of the appeal almost like a gimmick....judging by the cover of "Brown Sugar" and the first single I never expected he could actually SANG. the song "Higher" blew me away.

D'angelo. Love Max, but D is funky, has tighter beats and there isn't a sour apple track in his two albums I'll leave it alone babe...just be me
