Yep Alej, if you enjoy "Talking Book" and really enjoy the next three albums ("Innervisions" "Fulfillingness First Finale" and "Songs In The Key Of Life") I'd get "Music of My Mind"and "Hotter Than July" in addition to those too.

To me discovering Stevie's music is a great musical journey, and many album songs are often times even better than the hits.

All I can say about that album is WOW eek

Yep, you gotta start at the beginning. Hell, you can go back one with "Music of My Mind" or even before that to "Where I'm Coming From" to hear it from start to finish.

nod I actually like Where I'm Coming From better than Music of My Mind, but they're both excellent. Everything from WICF through Hotter Than July is top-notch. music

I think, obviously MJ was the better performer (is SW an performer at all?). That, and MJs pop sensibility and mass appealing songs made him so popular, and coz he created the visual image of the male pop-star the great audience woudl prefer MJ.

SW is more for those, who go deeper when it comes to music, you are not just impressed with big dance moves and bombastic choirs.

Though SW has of course, great pop sensibilities (imo he was the first big black star who attracted to white folks as well, with his fusion of r'n'b and pop) his music is more complex, not always easy-to get and jazzy and not as clean as MJ's.

But overall, though Mj is one of pop music's greatest songwriters, I think SW outshines Mjs musical talent by far. I'm not only talking bout his instrumental abilities, but also about his songwriting.

SW proved that he could pull off a double album, all written on his own, with a message and integrity. This was never reached by Mike, I think.

Whereas SW wrote some really privare-slow jams like Lately or Ribbon, MJ hid behind We Are The World or Earth Song. (Or to compare love songs with love songs - The Girl Is Mine vs Lately, You Are My Life vs Ribbon In The Sky)...

When it comes to covers: There are quite a few songs, where others sing better than SW.

First to mind comes "Until You Come Back", "I Can't Help It".

But overall, I'd stick to SW. I'm sure when he dies, especially black America will be really, really sad.

I prefer Mike here too. I know Stevie's is live and a different key and more of a latin feel to it, but Mike just owns this.

In tribute to Mike Stevie sung it in the same key as Mike with the "Off The Wall" backbeat feel.

One of my all time favourite MJ songs. That last video of Stevie´s live version is just pure magic. music music

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."
