Stevie is my number 1 artist. But the only one that sang his songs better was little Michael+Off The Wall Mike. Anything else done by anyone else, I ALWAYS go for Stevie.

Thanks for posting this! I haven't heard Stevie's version in a while, and MJ's version was giving me the "hold on here, isn't there a different version I prefer" knowing it was SOMEONE at Motown.

I tend to like some of Michael's covers of Stevie's songs

With A Child's Heart
Shoo Be Doo Be Do Da Day

Motown needs to hurry up and release The Jackson 5's version of If You Really Love Me mad

Y'all forgot this one:

I definitely prefer little Mike on "With a Child's Heart" and "Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day." The others are much closer. I usually prefer little Mike over just about anyone ("Stand," "Who's Lovin' You," "The Love I Saw in You Was Just a Mirage," "Love Is Here and Now You're Gone," etc.).

I think Stevie was a very good singer in the '60s who sang fantastically at times (like "My Cherie Amour" and "Until You Come Back to Me"), but he didn't become an outstanding singer until the '70s.

highfive Those are the two I really prefer! nod

Now that's one of my favorite Stevie songs! I'd love to hear their cover, but I don't think that song could be any better.

I think Stevie's work with Seth Riggs starting in 1967 definitely improved his vocal ability, and he kept practicing the high notes for hours (Stevie can hit the high e even today) really impressive. The Speech Level Singing technique is awesome.

I prefer Mike here too. I know Stevie's is live and a different key and more of a latin feel to it, but Mike just owns this.

In tribute to Mike Stevie sung it in the same key as Mike with the "Off The Wall" backbeat feel.

I'd start with Talking Book. It's brilliant, you'll be familiar with some of it, and IMO the next three albums released after it are even better.

Yep Alej, if you enjoy "Talking Book" and really enjoy the next three albums ("Innervisions" "Fulfillingness First Finale" and "Songs In The Key Of Life") I'd get "Music of My Mind"and "Hotter Than July" in addition to those too.

To me discovering Stevie's music is a great musical journey, and many album songs are often times even better than the hits.

I love and respect Stevie Wonder, but Michael Jackson sang the shit out of this song.
