As a fan of Radiohead, I think it's strange when Thom goes solo. I have his solo album and it was okay, but why does he tend to leave his band behind at times?

well a lot of lead singers or even musicians make a solo album at times, so i don't think that's a strange thing at all. with radiohead though, i think that thom is way more into electronics than the rest of the band. there were problems with the band during the amnesiac/kid a sessions since so much was based in electronics that a few bandmembers thought they served no more purpose within the band. HTTT was more classic radiohead, tho still with electro and in rainbows seems a full on return to real musicians with real instruments. thom obviously saved his electro fetish for his solo album and b-sides from that project. i love it when he does these type of songs and i'm very glad that he chose to release those musings on a solo album instead of just complying to the group and leaving those songs behind. for me, his solo album and it's bsides are amongst the best releases of this decade so far. i love everything about them. this new songs sound a bit like an eraser b-side. thus, i love it. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
