Ne-Yo ended up walking off stage after the break down, canceling the rest of the concert due to an "illness." Here are the highlights from his blog on Global Grind:

"Basically, I have an issue with not knowing when to say enough is enough, so last night in Manchester, my body said it for me. I've never had to stop a show ... I cried harder than I have in a very long time with no shame whatsoever.

To anyone out there that would like to question my manhood because of this I'll say this to you: If the one thing you cared about more than anything else in the world was threatened or even taken from you ... and this didn't spark some kind of emotional outbreak within you ... then with no shame I'll say you are truly a stronger man than I.

And to the bloggers....go to hell.
lol

Honestly I think he broke down in tears because he got emotional singing a Michael song, and Michael has passed away. He was his childhood idol.

He is nothing to be sad about lol

Lets not forget Teddy Riley broke down crying about Mike too on CNN

Michael can make men cry lol

At least he came out himself and told the audience instead of having a stagehand do it or just not coming back at all. Apparently, he's an artitst who likes to give his fans 100% and gets sad when he can't deliver. I can't make fun of the guy wanting to be an over-achiever...he tried to finish but couldn't...shit happens. Seems very humble to me...guy probably has never cancelled or showed up late to any of his shows since his career started. Don't know why some people at that concert chose to be ignorant fuctards and 'boo' him especially if they got to see a part of the show and will get to see it in full since it got postponed. I was supposed to go to Janet's Fort Lauderdale show last October, but it got postponed and then cancelled...I'm still sad. sad

You guys...rolleyes

If he was genuinely sick I don't blame him for crying. Most performers -regardless of what you think of their work -LIVE to perform. Not being able to go through with it can be emotionally devastating. I'd rather hear the guy was upset he couldn't finish the show than be all talk to the hand "whatever..." about it.

Agreed. Haven't any of you felt so crappy, you wanted to cry? or actually did?

I like Ne-Yo a lot, actually have all his CD's, and feel he's a talented artist that will be around for a while. I really don't buy into the "illness" angle though (...as a reason for the tears), I think he was probably crying over the loss of Michael in a sort of delayed manner (Hell, I still get sad thinking about Michael, even today!). But being that Ne-Yo has been fighting all along trying to "convince" people that he's not GAY, the last thing he'd probably want to admit to is that he's out there on stage crying over another man, lol (...for real though). Nevertheless, if I had been a fan in attendance, I would have been upset. It's usually no small task obtaining tickets, arranging transportation, scheduling time off, in order to go to a concert. Then to have the artist pull the plug, for WHATEVER reason, would be upsetting. Though I would have never booed a man standing alone on stage in a puddle of tears.

After the fact, Ne-Yo was probably thinking: "Dayum, y'all didn't boo Kanye when he broke down on stage when he performed after his Mom passed!". (...of course there's no comparing the loss of a parent to the loss of an idol). In any event, my heart goes out to Ne-Yo, wish I could give him a hug. But his ass is gonna need to throw a couple of free concerts over there in Manchester to make up for it, and they better be slammin!

Neither do I. Might sound strange, but I'll support him even more now. He kept it real. Now if he'd just stop pretending to be straight.

I'm starting to warm to this guy , he's got class ...may start getting into his music, any ne-yo fans here on the org tell me what i've been missing. cool

There are doubts about whether Ne-Yo will be able to perform at his three remaining UK shows after he was taken ill and left the stage in tears during a gig in Manchester.

Ne-Yo's hits include Closer, So Sick and Because Of You

The R&B singer, who was performing at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Thursday, was crying after struggling to sing on stage for more than half an hour.

He told fans he had never not completed a show before but couldn't continue with his performance.

Ne-Yo is meant to be performing in Liverpool tonight (Friday) and in Newcastle and London over the weekend.

BBC Manchester presenter Karen Gabay was at the concert and said Ne-Yo looked like he had a "really bad fever".

She says Ne-Yo started his gig 30 minutes late and announced that he wasn't feeling well quite early on.

"Even after the second song, for a man who is normally so cool, he was sweating.

"He was doing a Michael Jackson tribute and you could see that he was actually struggling to finish every musical phrase. He kept asking the audience to bear with him.

"Then he actually was crying. I thought it was because he had done a couple of Michael Jackson tributes and he was getting a little bit overcome, but it did seem a bit strange. He was very emotional.

'Floods of tears'

"Then he did a slow song, he was really struggling to move, he was absolutely pouring with sweat, and he went over to a table. He was actually hanging on for dear life and he looked as if he was about to drop then, he looked so ill.

"My friend also noticed that his songs had been shortened."

Gabay says Ne-Yo then went off for a "very long break" before he came back on stage in "floods of tears".

"He absolutely couldn't hold tears back - the crowd were applauding him and he couldn't bring himself to speak.

"Then he said he'd never had to do this before - he'd never not been able to finish a show - he said it though tears, it was unbelievable.

"He looked like he had a really bad fever. Then he went off stage crying."

Although most of the crowd cheered, Gabay says some people booed.

"Then they announced the show wasn't going to be cancelled, it was postponed, so in effect saying he will do the show again."
