Carlos Santana pays tribute to Michael Jackson (during concert in Athens)

He performs "She's Out Of My Life" at a recent concert, then says "We love you Michael" at the end.

Carlos and Michael were good friends. They talked on the phone a few weeks before Jackson's death, and Carlos was concerned about the 50 shows that MJ was gonna do.

I really love the song that Michael and Carlos recorded together in 2001...

"Whatever Happens"

Sony Records was crazy for not realizing the hit potential of this song. This was a surefire Top 10 smash!

This isn't the first time that Carlos has performed an MJ song.In 1988,he added "Smooth Criminal" (his favorite MJ song) to his concert setlist....

Damn right.
hands down one of the best songs he ever did.

The guitars are stunning as are the vocals.

Its criminal that this song never got a video for it or a single release.

It hasn't dated at all, and probably never will.

I hope someone covers this song and does it justice, give it the exposure it deserves.

nod I wanted more stuff like this from Michael...collaborations with real musicians instead of Akon,will.i.am and rappers.

Carlos is such a class act and an amazing musician too.

If you've never seen him live please do so. Listening to him play brings tears to my eyes. He knows how to make that guitar sing.

nod He played in my country some days ago but I missed it. It was kind of a rock festival though so he wasn't the only one performing.

He has a unique and beautiful sound to his playing and he performs in such an unpretentious way. Carlos is a true musician and I love to listen to him.

Great song! Shame it's so underrated, but this is one of my fave songs from Michael. I thought him collaborating with Santana was great and exactly the direction he needed to be going in musically.

Thanks for posting this - brilliant cover of She's Out of My Life - Santana is special!!

And yeah - Whatever Happens - fantastic song. This should have been a single, possibly even the first. I think MJ wanted Unbreakable to be the first single, but its a shame Whatever Happens was never released.
