Old School R&B Song Of The Day(12/17/2002)/George Duke-I Want You For Myself

Inspired by rdhull going back down memory lane last week with old school songs from days gone by. Plus it's the holidays, so I figured why not. From here until the end of the year, we will have an old school r&b song of the day.

So let get it started with this hit song in 1979 from master producer/ pianist/keyboardist George Duke. This song is very catchy with sexy sensual vocals supplied by Lynn Davis. The music on here is great. It a r&b/funk tune with a tablespoon of jazz thrown in for good measure. Tight stuff on this. The chorus is very catchy from a harmonic standpoint. Kind of makes you want to sing along with it. This is from the album Master Of The Game. This is a great song and used to sound good coming from the radio back in late 79'.

And who's that young lady throwing down on percussion on this blazing track?...Shelia E. And all this time you thought LIL MAN discovered her...Enjoy and have a nice day.
