ah,
90s timbaland, the one that we used to love. Aaliyah, Missy, Ginuwine and Timbaland were a great team in the 90s, but in the last decade, Timbaland has gone way downhill.

This is MY fave collaboration between them...
Interstingly enough, that song was an outtake from One In A Million and when the label wanted to release it as a B-side, she sat on it for her upcoming release. It STILL doesn't sound like it was recorded 13 years ago Another FAVE.... [Edited 7/16/09 13:55pm]

Oh I will go and put some Aaliyah on my cd player. Missed her, TLC, SWV, Salt N' Pepa and all the rest of R&B from that time

I love that album! R&B-wise, I thought "Man Undercover" and the Ginuwine/Playa track "Joy" should've been singles. Don't look now, but I think ViintageJunkiie just cut out the "featuring Missy & Timbaland" part of the thread. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Really? I'll give you a little background history of some of the songs I posted Ave Maria- That song was recorded by Aaliyah when she was 13-14. Since she went to a performing arts school, you have to perform in order to be considered entry. Aaliyah sang that. It was on her website back in 2002. Giving Up- Aaliyah was supposed to play "Sister" in the remake of the film "Sparkle". If you've seen that movie, Sister performs "Giving Up". Recorded in 2001. No Days Go By- This was recorded in 1997 and was one of Aaliyah's own compositions. She didn't write a lot. She thought of herself as the source of the music, but not the creator of the lyrics. She wasn't very confident in her writing. It's a B-Side to the song "Got To Give It Up" off the One In A Million album. That Thing I Like- Written by R Kelly back in 1993-1994. It was a UK bonus track off her Age Aint Nothing But A Number album. At Your Best (Steppers Ball Remix)- Aaliyah and R Kelly recorded 3 versions of the song. Of course you know it's a remake of the Isleys Brothers song. The original version, which is a slow jam, the "gangsta mix" which is the video version, and the "steppers ball mix" which is written by R Kelly. All 3 versions was available on the At Your Best maxi single. Where Could He Be- This song is rumored to be one of Aaliyah's last songs recorded (Along with "Giving Up" and "Steady Ground") The song features Missy and an adlib at the end by R&B singer Tweet. Thanks for all that info. She had some cool soundtrack spots I hadn't thought about in a while.

I remember her talking about this song in an interview with sister2Sister during the One In A million era(she didn't mention the title) she only said that it was written by her & her brother and that she wanted to include it in one of the songs' b-sides.
