As far as "The Lost Children" goes, I think it's probably his worst song ever as a solo artist. It's not as terrible as I used to think, but it's not good either. I love "Heal the World," but I can't defend "The Lost Children" or (to a lesser extent) "Childhood."

I love "childhood", and the video to that really is quite sweet and underated. Whilst its obvious the tone of the video would be sad, the flying boats thing was a nice idea. Particually when you see the boy on the ground near the end of the video getting lifted up with Mike just sitting there. Its really quite nice.

As for the track, anyone who likes it (like I do), would love Streisand. Even the way he sings it is like her. Maybe David Foster, who produced it along with Jackson, told him to sing it like her (Foster had worked with Streisand a couple of times by prior to "childhood").

The way he sings "Have" or (Hhhhave" I should say) on the "have you seen my childhood" line is just like her for example. Its hard to descibe it without actually singing it to you LOL.

The video is quite easily one of the least seen out of all his videos. Shame really as I like it alot. Its quite unique.

I also liked this montage WMA did in 2000. Odd choice of track, but it works well.

is MJ the all-time leader in montages or what? falloff

lol Iam sick of them, but I think "childhood" fits well with it. Its the only montage I bother to watch sometimes. Iam pretty sure thats Gregory Peck's voice on the beginning?

This is one of the MAIN reasons, why I pick "Off The Wall" album, over "Thriller" every time. This track is straight up NASTY!! Louis Johnson's bass lines are NUTS!!

worship Isn't it sick?! And when those horns come in after the break forget it. OTW is just tight tight tight. Love MJs vocal performance as well.

This to me, was when he was at his best and the most happy. Had he stuck with this formula, things would have been great.

In my opinion it's "They don't care about us". This song seriously rocks. Jacko sounds angry as hell on that track and I love it!!

Worst song ever? Really? I skip through Speechless with the quickness although I find it endearing now when I used to find it intolerable. I thought it was his boderline worse but maybe that You Are My Life cause it just drags. I really don't get the point of it but then I haven't listened to it in years.

I should give "you are my life" another try, but its probably one of the worst songs he has ever done LOL. I like "speechless" alot though.

I need to hear "shout" again aswell. I gotta find my "cry" cd single LOL. I know its on youtube, but I need to hear it properly. I guess it sounded too much like "2000 watts" that it got the boot? Only problem with "shout" were the lyrics on the chorus. Very ordinary and cliche next to those killer verses. Mikes singing voice on that and "2000 watts" were odd, but I liked it.

now see, I love "Speechless" and always have. THAT's the kind of cornball sap that I like from MJ, when it's so naked and pure, rather than contrived sonically or lyrically.

Thats how I feel about "TLC" also. "Speechless" blew me away when I first heard it (I avoided a very obvious pun there), and I still love it, but "TLC" has really grown on me bigtime.

Speechless is incredibly sweet and precious but I don't need to hear it more than once or twice. I particularly like the accapella part. TLC has a great arrangement and is fun to sing. boxed I actually like the kid chorus on this. Childhood is another great vocal performance and his falsetto is like butter so that stays.

I'm thinking maybe one of the fast songs could be the worst but I haven't decided on which. I don't think they've aged well on Invincible. Altho I can still enjoy Unbreakable and Threatened.

I have a hard time telling the first 3 tracks on that album apart. At some point they all just run together in my head and I have no idea which one I'm listening to unless I force myself to pay attention.

I actually prefer listening to the first 3 tracks back to back then the first 3 on "HIStory". Not that I ever play either of those albums all the way through anymore. Too damn long LOL (infact, I never play any MJ album all the way through lol )

The first 3 tracks are all too long though. Mikes middle 8 on "heartbreaker" is one of my fav "moments" in music. Like when the guitar comes in on "dont stop till you get enough". I just love it!

Then comes "break of dawn" sad Never have liked that track much....

The first three on Invincible are like one big sound effects festival. I only know them because I listened to them recently but I couldn't sing them off the top of my head. Unbreakable stands out a little because it's the very first and his enunciation is crazy. There's some nice chord progression as well.

I can't even recall the first three on HIStory. I pick and choose basically.

Yep, I looked it up and I rate "The Lost Children" as his worst solo song ever. I like "Speechless" well enough.

After the big 5 that funkpill mentioned, "Unbreakable" would be my next favorite.

The first 3 are excellent: "Scream," "They Don't Care About Us," and "Stranger in Moscow." The songs get progressively better with SIM being the album's best track.
