This should have been a single! I love this song....it's breezy and melodic with great lyrics.Woulda been a perfect follow-up single after "Never Had A Love Like This Before".

That whole lp is solid all the way through .Produced by the great Bobby Martin and with 3 tunes written by Sam Dees, who nearly always write great songs.

If you like cds(I do)do yourself a favor and get the remastered cd version of this fine piece of music it comes heartily recommended!

Here`s a link to the cd:

Yeah,I bought that remaster several years ago.It really is one of their strongest, most consistent albums. After a string of successful disco albums produced by Freddie Perren, they decided to switch gears and go back to a more soulful/R&B sound. In addition to the lovely title track,I also love the songs "One Telephone Call Away","I'm Back For More","Never Had A Love Like This Before" and "Straight From The Heart".A superb album from beginning to end.

If you buy Jap cds Tavares "Loveline"`81 is coming out on a remastered cd version on the 5th of AUG.
I really like this record also more of a 80`s boogie feel overall but the tunes are nice.It was their last lp for Capitol records and i don`t think it has ever been available on cd.

^^ 'Loveline' is the only Tavares album I don't have. Thanks for the info.

'Sky High' is another favorite album....has that ever been released on CD? An import, perhaps?

Yes,"Sky High" was released on cd`in the mid 90`s but once again only in Japan.I don`t own that cd myself but i don`t think it was remastered which i think is very important for the sound quality. Also the first 2 Tavares lps was reissued on an 2 lps on 1 cd in yes you guessed it,in Japan.

It`s a shame that some much quality music is reissued in the far east and not in the USA.I´m so tired of the "Best Of" cds which are released in USA.
I want the original lps with remastered sound quality at around $10-15.

I agree. It's absurd that we have to buy expensive imports from Japan of all places! LOL..I recently bought four CDs by Raydio, from Japan,at $25 a pop! I'm hoping that Tavares CDs are reissued/remastered in the States someday.I have the albums on vinyl but I'd really like to upgrade to CD.

Yeah,I have that CD too nod These two albums are alot different than what came later. It's soulful R&B,mostly ballads with no trace of disco. The title track from the second album,"Hardcore Poetry",is just incredible.

Something weird happened to Tavares to 1978.At the beginning of the year, things were going great for them.Their contribution to the 'Saturday Night Fever' soundtrack,"More Than A Woman" was released as a single and became a big hit.The soundtrack was selling millions and Tavares were reaching a whole new mainstream audience. It was a no-brainer that their next album (which would include "More Than A Woman") would be a blockbuster, right?

Wrong! The album 'Future Bound',released in mid-1978,was actually their first flop album. The first single "Ghost Of Love" went nowhere, and the follow-up single "Timber" did even worse. It's hard to figure out what went wrong. The album is strong and it even includes the popular "More Than A Woman".It should have been one of the biggest disco albums of 1978.

It was the failure of this album that convinced them to drop producer Freddie Perren and go in a more soulful/R&B direction. Thus,we got 'Madam Butterfly'.
