Don't forget to watch VH1's "I Love the 80's" this week. It's been on from 9 - 11pm. Each hour focuses on a year, so tonight will be 1982 and 1983. It's been hilarious and wonderful trip back down memory lane. It covers world events, popular music, movies, tv shows etc...
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

drool The only complaint I have is only 2 songs from 1989. What gives? Why do 80s compilations ALWAYS focus on 1980-84?

You guys don't want me to burn it for you...lol...

The packaging is superb, and it comes with a HUGE booklet that describes the songs, the artists in detail. There's also many cool photos and commentary on the entire 80s decade.

Trust me,it's a worthy investment smile

Because, let's face it,the early 80s had better music smile

As the 80s wore on,music became less inspired.I listen to the first three discs on this set much more than the last couple of discs.

I disagree! 1989 ROCKED. It's probably my favorite year for music ever!

Prince
Madonna
Janet
The Cure
Eurythmics
Depeche Mode
Aerosmith
Motley Crue
Sugarcubes

ahhh...biggrin

the Early 80s truly Peaked IMHO more so overall than the last part of the 80's.there was some Great stuff from 85 onward but the early 80's easily has the edge IMHO overall.

My main complaint with this box set is that it doesn't contain anything by Prince,Madonna or Michael Jackson. Those three artists basically RULED the 80s!!

But at least it does contain Sheila E's "The Glamorous Life" smile

One thing I love about this box set is that it is filled with alot of weird,one-hit wonder hits that are all but forgotten.I'm not saying that these songs are all great ("Pac-Man Fever"???),but they bring a smile to my face when I hear them. Most compilations would be horrified to include these embarassing songs...lol...

They also included "General Hospi-Tale",remember that one?

MJ,Madonna and Prince rarely allow their tracks to be used on compilations other than their own Greatest Hits packages.
I guess the size of their ego's won't let them sit alongside other artists that they consider less important.

Superstars, eh? Who'd have 'em. biggrin
