I've always hated the "MJ vs Prince" debate!

Prince and Michael always liked and respected each other. The fans and the media started the "Michael vs. Prince" debate! mad

I like and respect both. But I will admit I like MJ more. RIP MJ angel

Do you think Prince is going to die on the 25th Anniversary of "Dangerous"?! eek

Rubbish. Little MJ alone wipes the floor with Adult Prince, Mike had 20 yrs on top, consistantly culturally relevant. Prince is a footnote, and his impact is overblown right now, while he lives, but only by his fans.

Prince won't top the news when he goes, barely a mention, except for 'Purple Rain'. People generally just don't 'get' or 'like' Prince.

Not too many trying to be like Prince, but like Mike?

Smart move. Start a thread about hating comparisons so people can go ahead comparing. Stop being part of the problem.

Naah, fuck that!Prince has mostly been treading water since he signed that 'Batman' contract. Occasionally brilliant, but a moneygrubbing, rip-off merchant these days for sure. that website was damn good value.

I always hated this comparison. It's silly and childish. It's not 1985 anymore. In pop music, there is always room for MANY great artists.I refuse to play this game with my favorite artists.

I think we should just be glad that we had these two amazing artists in our lifetime because it won't ever happen again. The death of MJ is truly the end of an era.

Trying not to, but i'm still emotional, Screw these P fans who have no respect at all!

Didn't Prince go see the J5?, i'm sure i read that somwhere. I'm betting he dug Mike, they were the same age! I've read the same shit as everyone else. (in reality) I will not believe there was anything mutual respect to each other.

Growing up, I was always pretty tall and lanky, I'm 6"4, so it was, and still is, easier for me to put on black pants, white socks, black shoes, black hat and dance to MJ records, I'd look pretty silly wearing high heels and assless pants... razz

But yeah, I HATE comparisons as well, BOTH are legends... cool

Ok, 'Don't Stop' and 'Billie Jean'. Demo's prove alone that they were practically all from MJ. Mike knew where they needed to go with these songs. 'Billie's' lead vocal was done in one take, i heard it every time i went out on a weekend even before MJ's death, can't remember the last time i heard ANY Prince song outside my own home.

Michael Joseph Jackson > Prince Rogers Nelson.

"BILLIE JEAN" and "WHEN DOVES CRY" r both genius, that's why they were both #1 for 7 weeks each and the most referenced songs by either artist (IMHO), both are brilliant for different reasons.
