And the funniest thing is even at her raspiest, Billie still got the fucking point across. That's the epitome of a true performer. nod

I personally think her singing during her later years(esp in the Lady In Satin album) was MORE gut wrenching,,,even though at that point of her life, she started "speaking" the lyrics as opposed to "singing" them(which is another reason why poets & spoken words artists identify with her so much).

Its haaaard for me to listen to that album disbelief

Being more familiar with Billie Holiday's version, I can't even bother with Diana's. I like Diana but... her performance doesn't have an ounce of the same power or expression
