This recent "comprehensive" GH set includes his 80's hits as well as his 90's output...that's why. His legitimate GH releases were from the seventies, I and II. Im Still Standing, Nikita, Sad Songs and more from the eighties...from the ninities The One, Lion King hits and more. From the new ilenia he has his hits from his latest which includes the criminally underrated This Train Dont Stop There Anymore. Leave Elton alone..thats my bwoy!

I have his 4-CD box set and that's all the Elton I need. But I'm gonna buy the new 2-CD set for my younger sister, who is just now starting to appreciate his music.I heard that it comes with a bonus disc featuring three or four other songs. Are these new recordings?

The bonus disk sucks ass. It's just that George Michael duet on "Don't Let the Sun go Down", "Live like Horses" with Lucianno Pavarotti (stick with the original), "Candle in the Wind" (from his Live in Australia release), and yet another version of "Your Song" this time with some opera singer and it sucks.

The first two CDs are very well done though. The only songs that could have been added are Blue Eyes, Pinball Wizard, Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds, Empty Garden, Club at the End of the Street, Simple Life, and You Can Make History (Young Again). But there's plenty on there, it's a good collection. The liner notes and packaging made it worthwhile.

I agree...it seems Elton has a new GH's package every two years or so. I like early 70's EJ...not crazy over anything after about 1976 or so. 80's is not bad...but 90's is horrible barf. All that Lion King shit just sucks ass. It seems when EJ got the hair plugs some of the creative side of his brain seeped through the holes. I think the man has got hang up the shades and call it a day.

Best album is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road with Honky Chateau close behind. Fucking LOVE Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding! :Headbang:
