Man, I'll never forget my reaction when this video debuted. It was this: "Who the fuck is that chick?!?!? I thought this was a Mariah Carey video." Seriously, she did a total 180 from 'Emotions", and even "Fantasy" with her image. It was a little heartbreaking because she doesn't need to dress like that to promote herself. She's got the talent; she could wear a Hefty bag and would still be great. I love the song though and I love me some Mariah remixes; hell, I even think the video was cute, but it was a total shocker to see her all sexed-up after seeing her be so modest for soo long. I realize that was mostly Tommy Mottola's doing, but a part of me wishes she would go back to being a little more...hmm, what's the word Oh, yeah, DRESSED. It's all gravy though. She'll always be at the top of my favorite artists list. Prince Rogers Nelson

Yes. I always say Glitter is my favourite Mariah album, but it truly is Glitter/Butterfly. I love both so much Close My Eyes and Outside always get me

damn she was partially lipsynching even back then! the "baby i cant hardly wait..." part was totally lipsynched on both of those performances. is this when she started her little "just lipsynch part of it" trick?

I don't like Mariah post 1993 and with the exception of the Emancipation album which was great. To me her career from Endless Love to Boy I Need You and the last album was pretty much hit or miss and mostly on the miss side. But I have to admit Honey is one of her best tracks. It was also a departure for her at the time, she had been doing R&B since Dreamlover but this was probably her first single which was more R&B than pop (not counting the ballads). She should have sticked to that formula instead of going for Heartbreaker and Loverboy type of songs. By the way Sweetheart and The Roof were also great singles why weren't they hits? I first heard it on the radio at my cousin's house when it was brand new. I think she had recorded it on a tape when it played. I was at her place all the time and she played Butterfly, so I didn't purchase it right away cause I was always there listening to it. I eventually got in in early 1998 (Daydream was my first Mariah record), and I really think it sounds better with time and flows more smoothly than her other albums. And this is where she could balance out her adult contemporary sound and hip hop/r&b well without overdoing it.
I will forever associate it with my days of beginning high school.
