Donna Summer Sings Tribute Song To MJ

First of all, you can tell she was really sad and she was very sincere.
I'm really glad she did this in a so very intimate way. She's one of the greatest voices that still "delivers" in every single note. Yet, so humble. Being sad and all. So when many people are still calling any other female artist "The Voice", I keep on thinking and feeling this is the real "VOICE". Thanx Donna. You still do it Classy! "America is a continent..."

I didn't even get through the whole song and I started crying!!!! I've always felt Donna's voice to be underrated, and her rendition of this just reaffirms my love for her!!! BEAUTIFUL!!!! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Michael and Donna in 1979...a time when they were both enjoying major success (she with 'Bad Girls' and he with 'Off The Wall').
Interestingly,in 1982,they both released albums produced by Quincy Jones. Her 'Donna Summer' album was released in August 1982,while his 'Thriller' album was released in December 1982.He makes a guest appearance on her album, singing backup vocals on "State Of Independence".

I've never seen Donna with that look before. I see now that I've been wrong all these years. The "Cold Blooded" album was not the first time that Rick James started looking like Donna Summer. Andy is a four letter word.

Wow! Now THAT is a rare picture. I remember seeing Donna on one of the music award shows back then with that hairstyle. It was probably where that picture was taken from (circa 80)?
Thanks for posting that. I don't even want to hear the clip either. I know it's going to be heartwrenching.

Thanks for posting that. I don't even want to hear the clip either. I know it's going to be heartwrenching. Yeah it's from '80. MJ won three American Music Awards that night, all in the soul/R&B category. I laugh when I saw him win it the third time going "I don't know what I should say because Dick Clark is... OK thank you very much!" Donna was rocking the braids style in '79 around the time she was on Johnny Carson's show performing "Bad Girls". I saw it on YouTube two years ago. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really donĀ“t like the idea that he could have it all."
