In the USA, she's a two-hit wonder: "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover" and "As I Lay Me Down."

I was gonna say... a lot of people had other hits just not as mega. But her second hit gets spun on radio to this day.

Another 2-hit wonder. This song peaked at #2 R&B, but the follow-up peaked at #3:

Yeah, but it was greatly overshadowed by "Unbelievable" (#18 vs. #1 on the Hot 100) and almost forgotten. Very similar to a-ha being a one-hit wonder here despite "The Sun Always Shines on TV" reaching the top 20.

IMO, an artist with a top-5 hit would need at least another top-10 hit to avoid being considered a one-hit wonder.

Looking over the songs mentioned so far, I have to say they are mostly songs I really, really don't like. Some I absolutely despise. barf I guess 90s pop hits are just not my thing. The tracks by The Cardigans, Divinyls, Mazzy Star, Len, Jane Child and Imani Coppola were cool.

I'm going to ignore your über-strict definition and just post songs I like from the 90s that were much more popular than anything else the respective artists ever did.

First one:

Eternal - Stay (at least in the USA)

K7 - Come Baby Come

You have an uncanny knack for posting songs I really don't like. Our musical tastes don't match at all. lol

I do like the Jordan Knight track though. I still have the cassette single.

Oh, I don't like all those songs. In fact, some of them I downright hate. But they were inescapable in the '90s.

highfive That shit is fantastic in every way! Way better than any NKOTB song. BTW, I love "Sour Times." See, we can agree! lol
