Who made the S Curl Poplar in the 80's:MJ or Prince? I only lived about two months in the 80's but from what I've seen in the tv and suff it seems like the S & it's ugly cousin the gerry curl were REAL popular back in the 80's. And it seems to me like it wasn't popular until MJ & Prince came on the seen with their sleek new Dos ready to overtake the afro and dreads and set a new trend. But who was the one that popularized it?
from what I can tell. MJ had the S Curl in his "Rock with You" video but then Prince seemed to be rockin either an s curl or a perm in his Dirty Mind and Controversy Album Covers. Soo hopefully one of you orgers who survived the 80's can shed some light on this pop trend Did Prince ever deny he had sex with his sister? I believe not. So there U have it..

So true. People don't seem to know the difference. S-Curl: S-Curl is a texturizer that loosens the natural curl in the hair. I have seen everyone from Will Smith to Aresnio Hall with one: 
Jheri Curl: The process actually changes the wave pattern of your hair and makes it curly. It requries a LOT more chemicals and is a longer process. It usually requires for the hair to be rolled.  
Perm: A perm is nothing but the straiting of the natural hair for black people. This is what Prince has done for years. So have Al Sharpton and James Brown. [Edited 7/8/09 12:55pm] **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
