Not counting Prince? OK, that would probably be Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" and "History". Other than that, everything else from that decade was dull as hell because it was all shit hop or adult contemporary R&B. The good stuff from that decade wouldn't be considered pop because it was underground.

Dangerous and Ray of Light popped into my head right away. Of course, the two Crowded House records of that decade (Woodface and Together Alone) are personal favorites, the latter being my all-time favorite album.

nine inch nails, "the downward spiral"
madonna, "ray of light" (that's right, i'm not a TOTAL madge hater )
hole, "live through this"
deee-lite, "dewdrops in the garden"
nick cave & the bad seeds, "murder ballads" and "the boatman's call"
beastie boys, "check your head" and "ill communication"
david bowie, "buddha of suburbia", "1. outside" and "earthling"
prince, "come" and "the undertaker"...hell, the whole wacked-out symbol era is inspiring as hell to me in retrospect

sonic youth, "a thousand leaves"
princess superstar, "strictly platinum"

I remembered I actually compiled a top 25 list for the nineties. I think all of these sold at least GOLD, so that's "pop". It helps that many of my favorites were definitive of the era.
