Marvin - I'm Gonna Give You Respect From the Willie Hutch sessions:
I heard all three versions (the one by G.C. Cameron and the other by Willie himself) and compared to Marvin, the other two paled by comparison mainly due to Marvin's harmonious background vocals.

Love this cut! When I heard this on the Deluxe Edition of 'Let's Get It On,' I almost died in my seat. Those background vocals are killer:
"I don't wanna lose you...don't wanna, wanna, wanna lose you So Ima give you respect..." Check me out and add me on:

Timmy, I sooo love this song. I burned all the unreleased songs pre-LGIT on one CD. It would have made an excellent album.
This song Is really a fave, it's got a great melody and little vocally gimmicks like that "don't wanna, don't wanna, don't wanna losing you..."

I hope Motown releases the Willie Hutch-produced album. These 2 cuts in the Deluxe Edition just ain't enough, honey

There's two others in there I think ("We Can Make It, Baby" and "You Are That Special One"). And apparently Marvin was not only doing the shelved "You Are the Man" album (the one with that song, "Piece of Clay", "Where Are We Going" and "The World Is Rated X") but he was ALSO doing a funk rock instrumental album at the same time. Marvin was a busy man in 1972-1973!
