I will be willing to bet my paycheck that Prince has done something private with the Jackson family.

Just gave my E.T storybook record another spin... found it rather comforting to hear michaels voice in this manner. this comes closest to capturing the michael jackson I'll remember to the day I'll die. Glad I got it before it shot up in price last week.

It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

Why the hell does the public need to know that condition of his dead body?? I am outraged that this information is being flung out into the public arena. Its disgusting!!!! mad

There is NO reason for it!

I totally agree with you. The unfortunate thing is, in today's society where 'reality tv' and the like has made almost everything acceptable to discuss, display or toss out as public fodder, the bar of decorum and good taste has been lowered to gutter level. People eat up garbage these days, and seem to get off on gory details...even when it's about the deceased. It's sickening, imo. I feel so badly for the Jackson family, especially those kids, having to contend with this.

Yeah, she Twittered about it. She said she was overcome with grief and didnt perform as well as she wanted.

She's trying to cover up for her shitty vocals. Hell, some singers do their best when they feel emotional about something. Not saying she couldn't have been "overcome w/ grief" but what's her excuse for the other times she's sounded like ass?? hammer

You're a tough broad, CalhounSq. lol

I got that box set back when it came out. It's wonderful!! I had the poster up on my wall for years and years, but now I do sort of wish I'd kept it safe in the box and not put it up.

I need one question answered. HAS PRINCE RELEASED A STATEMENT ON JACKSON'S DEATH?

For some, said Us Weekly senior editor Ian Drew, there were good reasons: schedule (Madonna and Spears are on tour -- skipping a show could cost them millions), spectacle (Taylor and Ross made it clear they didn't want to steal the show from Jackson) and spite.

"Prince and Michael Jackson always hated each other," Drew said. "He wouldn't even make a statement when Michael died. He's always had to take a backseat to Michael, which for him, being so prolific, is very insulting."

Future generations of musicians without the influence of Michael Jackson

First of all I just want to say R.I.P. Michael Jackson...you were the best.
I have grown up with Michael and so have my parents and others in my family.
I don't think that music would be the same without him. (The same goes for James Brown) But I can't help but think about what the next generation of musicians is going to be like without the leadership of such a pioneer in music.
There will never be another, just thinking about people growing up without Michael is just mind blowing. I just want to know what you guys think about future Michael deprived generations.

Stevie Wonder was emotional as well, and sang perfect. If I would not have been a fan before, I'd certainly start to get into him after that performance.

It indeed was a nice memorial and not a massive spectacle like some predicted (todays Daily Mail called it something like "the tackiest memorial in history" which I thought was unfair).

Couldn't see Quincy anywhere though? And sorry, but Katherine is too old to bring up 3 kids. When she dies, those kids will be heartbroken all over again. I dont know where the kids should go as Diana is getting on aswell, but maybe one of the siblings like Jermaine or Marlon should look after them? Iam sure Katherine is great and all, but she is just too old.

ian drew should shove it. i'm one of the rare(?) birds who loved both mj and prince. i would feel as sad about prince's passing as i do about mj's.

prince has a right to his private thoughts. diana didn't show at mj's memorial. she sent a letter, said what she had to say, and i doubt we'll hear anymore from her on the subject. i remember barbara walters trying to get liz taylor to open up about richard burton, but liz told her, 'they're my memories'.

i'm sure they did not hate each other.

I'm sorry but as beautiful and respectful a memorial as it was, the city has no business asking residents to chip in and pay for it. either the family pays or the city just eats the costs.

It looks far more like MJ's image of himself that he worked on surgically for three decades, than the image of MJ as god made him (which admittedly is unknown after his teenage years).

If we take a passing resemblance as being more than a co-incidence, then you could argue this supports the premise even more that MJ cherry-picked the parentage (both father and mother perhaps) of his offspring to fit a certain image he had of himself and his offspring.
[Edited 7/8/09 5:16am]

you sound crazy- the child clearly looks like the pics of a 9 year old michael jackson.....
[Edited 7/8/09 5:19am]

don't bother arguing i think its painful for some people to admit that those are his children

this IS the kind of thing city government is set up for... safety during public events... residents already paid for it through tax dollars. so tough shit for the city. it's their job.
