Courtney Love to reform Hole

I guess she is doing the Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins thing. The only original member besides her is Melissa.

http://www.nme.com/blog/i...&tb=1&pb=1

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I loved Hole, but I don't see that the name is that much more marketable than Courtney as a solo artist.

Anxiety

her and melissa calling themselves Hole is still a hell of a lot more apt than what corgan is doing. at least there was enough personnel change in Hole while they were together that it doesn't seem so terribly inappropriate. but will they C.Lo be able to recapture the sound of her glory daze? i harbor doubts.

sweet. Hole is better than Nirvana.

i thought 'live through this' steps all over 'nevermind,' 'in utero,' or anything in the 90s done by Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, the Cranberries, Radiohead...
I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I say this with all due respect but I think you may need to consult a doctor.

It IS a shame she's calling it Hole without Eric in the band. The NME guy even refers to the new English chick as "her new Eric Erlandson."

I wouldn't have been all that interested either way but, Eric was a very important part of that group. Doing it under the same name without him does feel kinda wrong.

Well we shall see. I wonder how many people are still interested in her as a musician at all.

I really hope they do. I loved Soundgarden, and equally loved Audioslave, but Cornell really makes some horrible solo albums (this last one, produced by Timbaland, could be a career-killer).

I loved the shit outta Audioslave, the first album at least. I just adore his voice, but I couldn't even get through the snippets of that stupid-ass Timbaland album ill ill ill

Courtney should listen to Brody Dalle's new Spinnerette album. If you were to repackage it as a Hole record, many people wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Yeah, what a voice. I think that's what made Soundgarden unique. The grunge/alternative sound with a strong soulful voice. Chris said he was inspired by Otis Redding and the like when it came to vocals.

As awesome as this is, I really don't think they'll be able to get back to what they had back in the 90s. The Pumpkins couldn't even do it, and they had a kickass album with Zeitgeist.

let us enjoy ourselves, this rhythm is ill. i want to sit on your penis
