Classic Ebony/Jet Interviews

I was just watching a bunch of these on youtube. Nothing in depth, but fun viewing...

The Fat Boys - "We don't eat no lettuce or none of that crap, know I'm sayin'?" lol

Luther Vandross - On what he woulda done outside of singin: "Cashier at 7-11 or something big like that. I think I woulda been an interior decorator." lol

Janet Jackson - "God, I just would like for everyone to love me, cuz I love a lot."

Whitney Houston - "In my family there's a lot of women, and it is just something that comes natural from day one: that we become ladies." zipped Interesting to hear her say she's putting modeling on the side "for the moment."

Tina Turner

New Edition - promoting their new album, their first without Bobby. "He was really uncomfortable with the style of singing that we had."

Phyllis Hyman - her candor about her mental health is always....sad

Lots more where those came from...

I posted the Phyllis Hyman one loooong ago,,,,,a very moving interview.

Even though Linda Creed wasn't a close friend to Phyllis, she took her death to cancer very hard, and it shows in "Falling Star".

I loved those interviews,,,1st time seeing the Luther/Tina ones though love

She's SO stuck on that "ladylike" bullshit to this day even though she couldn't keep it up most of the times lol

Like the Wendy Williams interview where she threatened to kick Wendy's ass but won't resort to it because she is a lady, or a "lay-deeh" in her words lol

I loved that Tina Turner interview,,,,,come to think of it, I don't think I EVER watched a dull Tina Turner interview. There's something so endearing about that woman, I love the "matter of factly" manner she always stick with,,,,she never strikes me as somebody who's self-conscious about what they "say" or how they come across to the press, which is always refreshing.

There are so many I hadn't gotten to that one yet. But now that I have...falloff Even though she was angry at the beginning of that clip, you can tell in her voice and in her inflection that more than anything she was saddened by what happened to her. Of course, she isn't gonna out and out say it but you can tell.
