Michael has stated in the past how much he respects Quincy, and his desire to work with him, yet Quincy just brushes him off. [Edited 7/5/09 15:48pm] Q is a nasty, angry bitter old man period. I understand him being mad with MJ at times. Trust me, even me being a die hard MJ fan, i've been angry many many times with Michael over some of his foolish choices and behavior, but now is not the time for that. Quincy waited too late to say all this. The timing is horrible and he doesn't come across well here at all. One thing I can say about MJ, is that even before all the allegations and surgery, he's never bad talked others. No matter what people said about him and of course people have talked a lot of shit, he was never an angry, bitter or a nasty person. That's one thing i've always loved about him. I could never have such a positive attitude if that was me. i think that is what is bothering me the most. i could understand if quincy was actually providing some insight. did mj say to him why he was so interested in eyptian art, or spoke so highly of africa and its music, or had all those books on black culture in that called off auction, or gave to black causes, etc. yet didn't want to see his african face looking at him in the mirror? for someone who has known mj since he was 12, he doesn't come across as very compassionate. though i think deepak chopra has been somewhat self serving himself, he at least has atttempted to put mj in a human context, good and bad, from the perspective of a compassionate friend whose known mj for 20 years. he's been tough in his critique of mj, but it seems to be coming from a place of love. i don't get that from quincy.

Was he murdered?
Is he dead? Is his ghost around? Some fans are becoming their own worst enemies writing stuff that would make tabloid editors salivate. I hope the memorial is treated with respect and people realise that this isn't going to be a tribute concert, or an excuse for the Jackson 4 to re-unite. Tribute shows will come in time I am sure, but hopefully Michael will actually be given a chance to rest in peace. Swa "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

I mean aside from basic radio play the only time Mj was shown on television if it was news related, very few music orientated commercials or programming.I also wonder why upon him coming back to the U.S why not rebuild his image all over again.well I'm sure after the concerts major brands would return to him again. off topic his last rehearsal ... it just dawned on me if he looked that thin and the camera adds 10 pounds then this means he was rail thin!

Cinnamon234 said: Michael fans, are you guys able to listen to his songs? I wonder if i'm the only one who couldn't bear to listen to his songs? For the first few days after he passed I couldn't. I couldn't even look at a pic of him on TV without getting emotional.
I can listen to most of his songs now though. I still cry a bit when I hear songs like "You Are Not Alone","Who's Lovin You", "Man In The Mirror" and others (mainly ballads), but listening to him is actually helping. I'm listening to "I'll Be There" right now and it's sad, but comforting at the same time. I just love hearing his voice. That's all I have been listening to. I was completely in shock when I heard of his passing, and I think I stayed in a place of denial, because I never once felt a sadness, until tonight. I picked up the People magazine, and was looking at it,and I would look at the pictures of him before the surgeries, and then the more recent ones, and I was thinking to myself "Why did you do that to yourself Michael",it was then that I started sobbing, and I haven't stopped. I don't know why it finally hit me tonight, but I am feeling the loss very hard. Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

He married a white woman [Edited 7/2/09 10:24am] so did michael. But Quincy was a snowbunny queen. And Michael's OTL was Diana Ross, a black woman, so Why couldn't Quincy say this when he was still alive? Coward ass. Chic35 said: Anxiety said: so did michael. Well Preach now...LMAO!!! Q: But it must've been so disturbing to see Michael's face turn into what it turned into. A: It's ridiculous, man! Chemical peels and all of it. And I don't understand it. But he obviously didn't want to be black. I felt like Michael was doing something more to his skin! When Quincy said look at his kids, that really hit home. Somewhere along the line somebody taught him that black was not beautiful. Quincy Jones just told the raw honest truth! What ever you think of yourself on the inside will manifest on the outside. During that last apperances and recently, Michael looked like a mannequin he didn't even look real... It's okay to have your personal preference, but don't alter yourself... [Edited 7/2/09 10:40am] LOL look at Quincy's kids! Rashida is just as white looking as Michael's daughter. kibbles said: Anxiety said: so did michael. yeah, but did mj ever accuse quincy of not wanting to be black? i saw this at the huffington post and there's great debate going on there. so quincy didn't believe that mj has vitiligo; deepak choprah, a good friend to mj also, says he did as well as lupus. i suppose we'll know soon enough as i'm sure they'll mention it in the autopsy. i think quincy comes across callous and spiteful, rather dismissive and dragging ray charles into it is weird but whatever. i suppose when he's dead and gone people will get to spew about him as well. There's not even a need for an autopsy for evidence that he had vitiligo; its already in medical records. And let me tell you, even if a news release said JACKSON HAD VITILIGO with the autopsy details revealed, somehow...some way, people will STILL deny it, lmao. Pathetic. White Americans, what? Nothing better to do? Why don't you kick yourself out? You're an immigrant too. -White Stripes
