One of my personal favorites, Nona Hendryx knows how to rock a unique style all her own. No other female artist, including Cher, can wear chaps as well as Nona and I love her edgy haircut. The woman is FIERCE!!!!
"Why Should I Cry" is a single from her 1987(!) "Female Trouble" release, which is sadly overlooked and under-rated. It features grooves co-written by Jellybean Johnson and the late Dan Hartman, not to mention backing by Jimmy Jam, Bernie Worrell, Mavis Staples, George Clinton, and Peter Gabriel. While not his best-penned, "Baby Go-Go" appears on the album as well, written by Joey Coco! I wish she'd return to making new music!!!!

Nona stood out when she was with LaBelle, even with Patti out front. She always seemed to have it together. I remember seeing her on "Sunday Night" after she went solo, but not a whole lot lately. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

I used to have a crush on her when I was a young'un. Ever heard her try and pick up Stuttering John on the red carpet?
