http://gawker.com/5304647/vibe-folds ?uestlove is kinda sad about this news: http://www.twitlonger.com...a674de064d Actually its not the music biz, its the magazine biz also, so many of them are taking it online, as for the music ones, i mean do you really care to read about Lil Wayne's childhood?? I mean can you really sit down and interview todays so called artists and get something intelligent out of them. Its like JAY LENO said, we cut the guests down to one segment, because no one has anything interesting to say, youre lucky to fill up the 7 minute interview "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Not only that, but the last 5-10 pages were ads for porn and how to keep your dick hard. It's a shame, really. It used to be a good magazine. Perhaps they wouldn't be shutting it down if it still was... • Did you first think Prince was gay? •

I wasn't even aware they were still around to be honest. I thought they went out of business a year ago due to the economy and the internet killing the print publishing industry. Frankly, it's hard for magazines like Vibe, Rolling Stone, Spin, and others to keep up on their favorite stars when you have blogs and artist fansites who can give more up to date information on various events and subjects and give even more in-depth interviews on their favorite artists. Plus, their last issue was to work on a Michael Jackson tribute, yet anything they could possibly out out has already been done by fans online in print, photos, mp3's and YouTube videos, and more in-depth than any magazine could possibly put out.

I won't even state te obvious. Good riddance, Vibe. There have always been sexy images on album and magazine covers but they are usually sensual and sexy looking. Even "Playboy" covers are artistically done. There's nothing artistic looking about this cover at all. It looks like one of those DVD covers for a black porno movie from the image, all the way down to the generic fonts in the headlines. It just screams cheap and sleazy. Andy is a four letter word.

Basically how I feel. Yeah, though i occasionally saw a cool review in there. I've bought some issues with articles about 80's soul & funk with good photographed sessions. They somewhat reviewed classic groups who started to perform again more frequently around the early/mid-90's, along with an event like Sinbad's Summer Soul Jam and live-releases which came out, mainly on Intersound Records (Cameo/Con Funk Shun/Dazz Band/Gap Band/Lakeside/United We Funk All Stars/etc...). That's why I stopped reading them a long time ago. The last one I brought was when Janet was on the cover on the beach. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Okay! That is the most craptastic cover I've seen in a long time! Are they kidding?! They deserve to get the plug pulled in the middle of the production. Not only is it blatantly tacky and artistically, a horrible photograph. Christina hasn't done anything but be a chick to someone else. And she gets a cover because she's dating Dream? A guy who wouldn't get picked out of a crowd on any given day? Good riddance! My last issue was Aaliyahs's memorial. [Edited 7/1/09 7:24am] Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
