Q tip - Unreleased Renaissance stuff ...
When Q-Tip's "Renaissance" came out, I was glad, but also a little disappointed... the circulating versions of Open/Live at the Renaissance were more in line with his Kamaal The Abstract Project--Much more of a live band feel. Even the released version of Johnny Dead paled compared to the original version, "Johnny Died" Other tracks were discarded altogether.... Johnny Died Where Did You Go? I have this cd after finally finding it on some obscure New Zeland web site back in December. It was supposed 2 come out in 2004 actually. Great stuff! I especially love "That's Sexy", "Lisa", "Poem" (which is from Roy Hargroves 2003 cd the RH Factor:Hardgroove), and "Good Thing".  |

Interesting! Thanks for posting the other versions and unreleased stuff. Personally I loved this CD from Q-Tip...one of my top releases of 2008 The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.
