AQUA: the "Barbie Girl" band new single # 1 in Denmark: "Back To The 80's"

New single from AQUA:

loved and hated by many, the danish cartoon heroes AQUA:

Aqua is a Danish dance-pop group, perhaps best known for their 1997 breakthrough single Barbie Girl. The group formed in 1989 and achieved huge success across the globe in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group managed to top the UK Singles Chart with their first three singles. The group released two albums: Aquarium in 1997 and Aquarius in 2000, before splitting up in July 2001. The group sold an estimated 33 million albums and singles, making them the most successful Danish band ever.

That song sounds nothing like the 80s. Don't know if that was even the intention, but if it was they have no idea how the 80s sounded like.

Haha, yeah,

believe it or not:

Aqua, their first 3 singles went to #1 in the UK:

Barbie Girl,
Doctor Jones,
Turn Back Time

In Denmark they had a string of hits, their debut single was Roses Are Red, and My Oh My was a big hit as well.

Also their second album had some hits like Cartoon Heroes and Around The World.

I know all this because my niece loved Aqua, I gave her some singles in birthday present. wink lol

My niece... she's now 20 and loves Pete Dohorty, the british drug addict... lol eek

So, the Can charts are a mixture of European and US charts? I don't think this BG song was ever played in the US.

It's such a dumb song, those band members can't be serious! They love to make chokes of theirself.
