I thought on a site dedicated 2 Prince, people would at least have some musical taste. If this is what U call a good performance then go join a Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera site. I mean really, have our standards fallen that low? As Public Enemy once famously said "Don't believe the hype" I expected more from U people.

ok, her performance went flawless.
Choreography was tight. Does that mean she killed it? Doesn't everybody from Michael Jackson Janet Jackson to Usher to Rihanna to Beyonce to Ciara to Justin Timberlake to Britney Spears & countless others do the same shit over and over again for the last 25 years? What is so great about this? How is she killing it? I'm sure she has a lot of talent and therefor gets a lot of people to like her. Or maybe it's just great marketing. For that reason the standard should be put up a little higher for her performances. You can expect a little more from a performer of her caliber right? This is so lame, so tired of seeing the same old group dance routines for the last 3 decades. It looks like I'm still watching Paula Abdul or Janet Jackson. Just a little more gay. There hasn't been a pop star with such commanding stage presence in a long while. Let alone one that actually sings live. Yes, I hope she'll be around for some time. Some orgers get so nostalgiac about artists like Madonna or Janet or Michael and then shit all over a new artist who comes out of nowhere and delivers on standards that were set back in the day when the bar was high for most artists. The reality is that GaGa is perfectly capable of various performance styles, including solo acoustic. But she can also put on a spectacle. There's about as much reason to criticize this performance style (which works perfectly for the venue) just because Michael and Madonna were pioneering it 20 years ago as there is to criticize Sheryl Crow for simply playing a guitar and singing because Paul Simon was doing it 40 years ago. | |

Ok, I guess she was actually "killing it" She was dead on. She's a great performer with talent. What else has she done? Anything groundbreaking musically? Polished pop performances is what's popular today, and if you're into that, cool. Just remember what it is, and don't call her THE NEXT BIG THING or anything like that. You think she would get the same attention if she was fat and from India? When she performs under water and dances just as fast without oxygen for the whole 7 minutes with her eyes closed and clipping her toe nails at the same time while praying to God her carreer will last another album. Now THATS some shit... Of course.... Her next album will probably be decent (i mean for real) Because she has to prove herself. And for that reason it will flop. She will probably sound like sheryl crow and will perform with a giant triangle naked on a chair while you ex gaga fans just wanna dance, dance, just duh duh duh dance...
