Most tragic DISCO artist of all time

For me would have to be some 80s Johnny come latelies like

Michael Sembello
Musique
Gibson Brothers
Ottawan
Boney M in the 80s with Reggie Tsiboe
Anita Bonfil
La Belle Epoque
The Whole staying alive soundtrack

Can you think of any more, I just watched a movie called Summer Loving from 1982 and it was tragic, with this Michael Sembello song I can't get over it
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Michael & Cruz Sembello also wrote and performed/sung some great songs with David Sanborn :

Yeah... hmmm i googled that name but no results. Maybe it's meant as Angela Bofill ?... Though i can't really list any tragic track of her.

Angela Bofill sorry, al these non British/non English country artists names elude me. She had a hit in 1981 called Tropical Love. The Gibson's hit big with Cuba in 1979. Both sound like cheap Boney M knock offs with phone in beats and ESOL lyrics

Okay ... well, imo Angela's song doesen't sound close to anything like an uptempo disco-track or something from Boney M, but more like a jazzy laidback groove.

Hell naw, he was fabulous, his music was really quite good, and he had the Two tons of fun helping him out on Dance Fever (Disco Heat)
He was so much more, drag queen, singer, artist, creative muse. Sylvester was not a man or a woman but a divine creative explosion.

I think you got confused with Jobriath

No, I absolutely meant Sylvester. You don't think his life was tragic?

Yeah he had the nerve to be black and gay, sorry we don't call someone tragic because of immutable biological factors. The man is not tragic, hes a hero and a trailblazer. Its very tragic he died of aids yes, but I meant tragic as in bad singing/musical ability and Sylvester could sing and he had musical ability.

I agree! His death may have been tragic, but I think his life was pretty fantastic.

That was the only tragic thing - him having AIDS, lol.

But in truth I don't know if there's such a thing as "tragic disco artists". lol

I see. I didn't realize you were using the word "tragic" in regards to musical ability. I'm a huge fan of Sylvester, though feel he had a very tragic life.
