I think that in breakdancing there was also a dancemove called "smurf", and bassplayer Tyrone Brunson released a breakjam around 1983 called "The Smurf".

I remember a dance called The Smurf but it wasn't in breakdancing.

I think it's because the movement of the body kind of resembled the smurfs. I don't know. I remember the dance The Gigolo and I have no idea why it was called that other than there was the popular song by O'Bryan at the time. lol

There is a dancer in the video whose name is Wanda. Does anyone remember her? She was on the New Dance Show as well. She used to be a teacher and was fired for dancing on these shows neutral There was also a dancer named Brownie. She had a big gap in her front teeth. I remember when she had a house fire and her baby was killed sad Very sad.

Smooches;)

It would be impossible to have a show like that today. In order to dance, fast music has to exist and it doesn't anymore.

I haven't heard that song in years. They never played it down here but I had friends who had relatives in Detroit and they would mail them mix tapes down here. I remember that jam well.

Fast Freddie is still around. Last I heard, he was a ballroom instructor. Anyone remember when Vanity 6 appeared on The Scene in 1983?

I loved The Scene, Nat Morris and The Scene Dancers! It still burns my biscuits that when I was finally old enough to get on it, it was canceled.

Sugar is sugar, salt is salt...if you didn't get off today, it's not my fault! lol
