I think it's because the movement of the body kind of resembled the smurfs. I don't know. There is a dancer in the video whose name is Wanda. Does anyone remember her? She was on the New Dance Show as well. She used to be a teacher and was fired for dancing on these shows  There was also a dancer named Brownie. She had a big gap in her front teeth. I remember when she had a house fire and her baby was killed  Very sad.

I loved The Scene, Nat Morris and The Scene Dancers! It still burns my biscuits that when I was finally old enough to get on it, it was canceled.
