I donlt know what i'm saying. I've been drinking since I heard. I'd like to have thought I'd never have given a shit about someone I've never known, but I do. I really do.

Michael Jackson may have led a very private life. But for those who were close to him, he was anything but guarded. One of those people who got to know the King of Pop over the years was Frank Dileo, Michael’s longtime manager and a member of Jackson’s inner circle, who was at the hospital when the singer died on Thursday, along with family, friends and Jackson’s children. “His three children were there. They were in a separate room while the doctors worked on Michael,” Dileo told the “Today” show’s Meredith Vieira on Friday. “I’m very sad for his children, his mother, his father, his brothers and sisters. It was a very rough day yesterday for everybody.” In fact, it was Dileo who had to tell Jackson’s three children — Prince Michael Jackson, 12; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael Jackson II, 7 – that their father had died after doctors worked for over an hour to resuscitate the star. “We had to tell the children. I didn’t go in alone. I went in with a doctor and a social worker. The nanny was in there and Dr. Murray – Michael’s personal physician. It was, as you would think,” a visibly emotional Dileo continued. “I can’t even begin to tell you the emotion that flowed out of those children.” As someone very close to Jackson over the years, Dileo got to see a side of the pop star that few others did – as a father. “Michael was a very dedicated parent, a single parent, who took that responsibility very seriously. His whole life surrounded around those children and they around him,” Dileo added. So where are the children now following their father’s death? “They are with their grandmother. They are with Mrs. Jackson,” Dileo said, referring to Michael’s mother, Katherine. “Right now, I would think that’s where they would stay.” And while custody of the children has yet to be determined, Dileo said he also must focus on Jackson’s financial matters, which was something that the pop star worried about for his kids. “There’s so much speculation as to a will – there is a will. A team of lawyers are gathering today and we’ll sort through all the stuff for the children,” Dileo explained. “[Michael] talked about making sure that his finances were taken care of – to clean up this mess so his children would be protected, so that’s what I’m going to do… That’s what was important to Michael.” And while Jackson’s death at the age of 50 on Thursday came as a shock to fans worldwide, it was equally surprising to those who were closest to the King of Pop. In fact, Dileo said Jackson had been in good spirits in the days leading up to his death. “I was with Michael everyday going to rehearsals – Wednesday and Thursday he was the happiest,” the manager recalled. “On Wednesday, he put his arm around me at the end [of the day] and he said, ‘Frank, I’ve never been happier. We’re going to make this work… It’s our time again Frank. We’re going to do this!’” Besides being happy, Dileo also said Jackson seemed to be in top physical shape. “He seemed in great health. People are one day gonna understand why so many people love him and what he meant. The only time I've felt like this was when my parents divorced and the passing of my older cousin. He made me believe in me when I didn't believe in me. That's why I get so defensive about Michael. He gave people hope. I've seen people from different parts of the world with different opinions and personalities put it all aside to simply talk about how much they care about him. Very few music stars can do that, and when they can, that tells you about their spirit Cam, I don't drink and never have but tonight, me and my homies are gonna be getting tipsy with tears in our eyes because somehow, the world doesn't feel the same to me. I'm gonna miss that man, I tell you  Dude I understand completely. I'm missing him more than I thought I would. Earlier this afternoon, I finally broke down at my desk while I was talking about my MJ memories as a kid. It hurts and no matter what issues I had with the man, he was one of my favorites. He was the bridge that led me to Prince, so I am grateful to MJ just for being here and letting his talent shine for the world to see. And thank you Jay for sharing some MJ stuff with me in the past. **** Being almost 22 years old, I didn't get to experience Michael during his "peak" years but I did get to experience everything from 1990 onwards In my opinion, there was NO brighter star than Michael Joesph Jackson to me.I love James Brown, I love Prince, and I love Stevie, but Michael, from the day I heard Human Nature at the age of 3, has been part of my life and my heart. I remember watching the videos when they premiered, listening to the albums non stop, rejoicing when the 2005 verdict came. There will never be another Michael Jackson I can't really listen to the music and watch the videos that have been such an important part of my life, the singer...the dancer....the writer...the person I've become. I've made friends for the simple fact we were fans. That was a beautiful thing about Michael. He WANTED people to come together and enjoy themselves through his work, he wanted to bring people of different races, creeds, and backgrounds together. That kind of quality is surely missing in this day of "artists" Today, I can't listen to his work without feeling such a huge feeling of sorrow and emptiness, yet relief Relief because he doesn't have to deal with the crap that the world threw at him anymore and the vultures who were constantly trying to get him. But sorrow and emptiness because the world does feel a bit more empty, a bit less happy, a bit less together....a bit less musical without Michael Jackson Today is really the first day of my life without Michael Jackson and although the tears have stopped (temporarily....), the feeling of loss yet respect and rememberance lingers I lost my favorite artist. I lost one of my biggest inspirations in my life, I lost my hero I lost my dear friend Michael Jackson 1958-2009 .....now excuse why I go cry again...

I was actually walking around in a police uniform yesterday crying. It was a trip because most people hadn't heard the news and they would say a greeting and I would just burst into tears. Now people are walking around with knowing glances. MJ, even though I din't understand/agree with what you did to what was once a beautiful face, I never stopped loving you and I never believed the bullshit stories that were said about you. I was guessing the doctor was performing CPR while the caller was on with 911 but wouldn't the doctor know to perform CPR on the floor? That's basic info. Was he determined that the paramedics try to resuscitate him even en route to the hospital because he couldn't accept his death even tho he wasn't breathing back at the house? Why did MJ have a cardiologist living with him? Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off | |
