Babyface asked everybody to stand up and applaud the "greatest entertainer ever" and then dedicated "when can i see you" to mj. after babyface left the stage, the sound system blared I want you back==the crowd broke into an impromptu jam/sing along. it was really sweet/nice

George Benson also dedicated a song to mj

Ledisi didn't even acknowledge his passing.

I said the same thing, Fury. Maybe it's weird because 'Face and George did it so maybe Ledisi didn't want to, doesn't mean she's heartless, right?

Maybe she would have gotten emotional mentioning Mike.

Thank you, I mean people have different ways of handling situations like this. Some musicians will play people's songs in their honor after their death, some others will carry on with their shows. She'll probably twitter about it tho.

her set was maybe 1/2 hour after the news broke. not saying she had to do a song, but damn..acknowledge the legend. taking 10 seconds out of your set to say something nice wouldn't kill you. maybe she could have taken out the part of her set where she kept telling everybody how to pronounce her name correctly. ole girl just seemed more about getting her 30 minutes than doing the right thing and paying respects..just my opinion

There are soo many celebrities reacting to his passing, lots of twittering(?) going on in the entertainment community. I think almost everybody has commented on his passing because he inspired soo many generations of artists throughout the world. It's really nice to see Babyface and George Benson paying homage to him during their shows.

Man, I just can't believe that he's gone. He was such a huge part of music history for so many generations of people throughout the world. I'm going to be crying for the next three days like I did when Luther passed away.

I just remember playing the 'Thriller' and 'We Are The World' vinyls when I was 7 years old and being amazed by this man. I feel in love with 'The Wiz' because of him; and, then I saw him do the Moonwalk on 'Motown 25' and that was the moment that I understood what a legend/icon really was.

I'm sad that I never got to see him perform live. I am happy that I did get to see him a few years ago when me and my friend went to Universal Studios Orlando one day on a whim. He was just walking from shop to shop with his bodyguards minding his own business, except for the crowd of people following after him totally amazed and fascinated to be seeing Michael Jackson walking around a theme park (we were two of those flabbergasted people ). People were in awe of this man despite all the bad things that had occurred in his personal life and I'll never forget looking at that crowd of people and saying to my friend, "He's still the King of Pop, no matter what anybody says." Despite all the negative things that happened, he still wanted to make the world a better place because he had a good heart and in the end that's all that matters to me.

My prayers to his family and fans. He was a prime example of greatness personified. Michael, you will be greatly missed.

I don't know if it was already mentioned, but Elton John sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me" in tribute, and Donna Summer planned to dedicate a song to him at a show this evening.

I'm gonna pull out the 'Off The Wall' CD and play it all weekend long.

If you take a look at the people who paid tribute to MJ, it was people who were old enough to know the impact that he had on music. Face and Donna, had even worked with MJ, in the past. Allot of these young pups don't realize the impact that their forefathers have had on their craft. They will get there.

I'll always cherish an awesome energetic show of him which i visited in the early 90's. Besides that, his early to mid-70's performances when he mixed more instrumental
jazz in his set are worth to check too. "Weekend in L.A." is another great live-recording, and i once found a live boot-cd from around 1979/1980, with on some tracks a full string-orchestra playing great arrangements.
